Agree.Maybe they could put a little effort into fact checking to find out that the game was at St. Cloud not Ridder Arena. Just sayin'
Hey, at least they were mentioned in the paper. A lot more media attention than they were getting a month ago.Agree.
On the other hand the other local newspaper can't be bothered to spell one particular (and particularly good) player's name correctly.

I'm moving my comments here because they are more Minnesota focused than looking at Team USA as a whole. First, this sucks for Hannah, because I don't believe that there are 12 more effective forwards in the U.S., let alone 15. Kelly Stack and Molly Schaus are other notable omissions. And no Jillian Dempsey, which I find surprising given the coach.Looking at the list of 28 players announced yesterday that have been invited to the U.S. Women's National Team training camp, which takes place later in March, there is a curious omission. No Hannah Brandt.

There is good news on the roster. Nice to see Jen Schoullis listed; I take that as a sign that she is healthy again. Lee Stecklein as well gives me hope that maybe the powers that be do have the capacity to see the value in a defenseman that excels in playing defense first. I'd imagine that the odds are still against her making this roster or that for 2014, but every roster such as this made is a step in the right direction.
I still think Brandt will be centralized next year and the Gophers won't have her services. If that proves to be incorrect, it would definitely alter the prospects of the maroon & gold in 2013-14.
This is for the World Championships. I'm guessing that there will be one or more camps over the summer where an initial pool is cut down to something like 26 to 22 by the end of August. Then there will be final cuts to get down to the Olympic roster. Typically, the final cuts happen late enough that a college player would miss the first semester, so they often sit out the full season rather than play only a half. Jocelyne Larocque of UMD is the only one I can think of off the top of my head who returned to school to play a half season. Can someone educate me on the centralization process? Is there another invite list released? When does that happen?
I am pretty happy to see Sarah Erickson still in the mix. There is good news on the roster.
