Sadie Lindsay scores a penalty shot goal that might be the slowest one I have seen...;)

4-1 Breck

Now Breck has added two more goals to lead 6-1 late in the 3rd period.

And that is your final. Breck back to back State titles.

The floodgates opened late in the game.

Only watched the 3rd period but in it Warroad made lots of nice stickhandling moves to get the puck in front but didn't have the ability to finish when there was only the goalie to beat.

And their defense left something to be desired.

Warroad should have scored a PP goal to make it 3-2 but a quick whistle took that away from them but even with that Breck's forwards really took over the game in the 3rd period.

An eery resemblance to a woman's college team a few years ago. Go undefeated all season and then lose to the defending champions in the playoff final :)

This is such a great time of the year for girls hockey...

Looking forward to seeing if Brainerd can stop Edina from winning a 3-peat.

So, that's what it was? I had no audio and couldn't understand why the goal didn't count.

If that's the case then they were robbed. The puck was clearly still in play.

Early action...Shorthanded goal for Brainerd and a PP goal for Edina. 1-1.

And just like that Brainerd takes the lead 2-1.

Great game so far. Great presence of mind by the Edina Captain after flying thru the air (like Bobby Orr on that Championship goal) being down on the ice and swiping the puck with one hand on her stick to her team mate in front who deked and put it home...gorgeous.

No doubt...

2-2 after 1 period. I would give Edina an edge in play but they have had 3 PP's.

Blackbeard, do you still have no audio? I had to crank mine up (for the stream) pretty far to get some decent volume.

Just got home from the Gopher men's game (yeah!) and tuned in to the Edina/Brainerd game. Good to see the Warriors giving those CakeEaters a game. A win would be great for girls youth hockey in the North.

Yeah, I discovered that too but I have to err on the side of caution with with volume and the hearing...so I have it set so I can hear something which is better than silence, so I'm at the game, but I can't hear what they are saying. Haha.

Edina's depth is wearing Brainerd out but with it still tied at 2 at the end of the 2nd period, there is still hope for Brainerd.

The Babes with the Blue Ox (notice the politically incorrect play on words) appear to be tiring more than Edina from the relentless and frenetic pace. Extreme high energy being expended.

Play is getting a little sloppy as a result...the tanks only hold so much fuel.

Edina seems to have the edge in skating ability/talent (no pun intended) but Brainerd's energy has basically neutralized it so far.

Some big holes in Brainerd's defense are starting to develop and Edina is exploiting them.

SOG 31 - 9 for Edina.

The longer Brainerd can keep it 2-2 the better their chance to pull the upset. But with Edina's depth and skill the chance of that happening is remote. But hey, stranger things have happened

Edina did everything but score in the 2nd period, mostly due to Brainerd's very good goalie who also had some puck luck on her side. Hope Brainerd still has some gas in the tank for a strong 3rd.

And everybody not in Green rejoices as Brainerd scores to make it 3-2 on the PP!

Why are they reviewing this? IT's good but there had to be some cakeater stuff going on there...;)

I'm amazed they actually called interference on Edina. They have gotten away with that all game.
