Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

Yes, and UNO earned it, but that was weeks ago.

But, what's that got to do with Miami losing to them? OSU taking Miami to three games? I saw a 2-2 trend coming into the CCHA championships- maybe a bit of relaxation/overconfidence on their part, even though they wanted to win the tourney. They were on cruise mode since December.

Is it that hard to give your opponent a little credit? Your team got outplayed, period. The rest are excuses. How many times did Reichard get yanked this season? It may be the best thing that happened to your team going into the NCAA's.

There is a lot to your point. Miami's first half schedule was so difficult they had to be alert at all times. Second half not so much, so maybe they were on cruise control. I, for one, give michigan all the credit for their win friday. It wasn't anything Miami did, although they didn't play well, It was all about what Michigan did do to win that game.

To my knowledge it was the first time Reichard has been pulled this season and only the third time Miami gave up 5 goals all season....the other two, UND and UNH both tournament teams.

Was ranked DEAD LAST in the inside college hockey's Great 58 and you "Expected to be here." Hahaha awesome!!

Pre-season rankings don't mean crap. :) By KRACH UAH is #42---again, the lowest-ranked CHA team, but still the CHA tournament champions. ;)

Very true. It's not like BSU had the recruiting power to ink high school-superstars prior to this year. Serratore has a system that seems to work well, why would he change it? For the most part, the Beavs roster is a group of very mature, well-rounded guys that are here for two reasons. To get an education and to play hockey while doing so. You don't see guys walking off the team to go play in the big show, and that's the way we like it.

Can't tell you how many times this season I wished Matt Read had gone pro last summer. ;)

You don't see guys leaving to go pro?? Really, Guess I imagined their sophmore goaltender taking a FF run and signing a pro deal....

Didn't seem to have too big of an impact on the team, did it? Junior Matt Read has been given the same chance more than once. My point was that we aren't signing pre-mature Madonna's that are only in it for their own best interest. This years squad is very close and have goals as a team.

Up the nose again, Geof? Have some pride man. DC doesn't need his nose hairs all over the internet.

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

Are you kidding?! This is the best most far fetched comment yet! You are Bemidji States perennial whipping boy year in and year out!! I laughed out loud when i read it. Your team is six games below .500 has no conference to even call its own next year. Was ranked DEAD LAST in the inside college hockey's Great 58 and you "Expected to be here." Hahaha awesome!! Completely Amazing. One question... What's it like in your fantasy world?

Yes, let me make it more clear.

Three years ago, when Danton Cole was hired by The University of Alabama in Huntsville to coach its Division I ice hockey team, the expectation (of me, at least) was that by his third year he would put a team on the ice that would qualify for the NCAA tournament.

Ere go, yes. I expected us to be here. He accomplished that goal, and he is to be praised for it.

Now it's time for him (and his team) to exceed those expectations. And to set new ones. I expect us to be near (or above) .500 next year. Period.

Do you know how easy it is to tell that you are a bandwagon BSU fan?

And buy some lights, for Chris's sake! ;) :D

You'd think he'd use the 5DMkII, but nooooooooo. "It's too big." So he uses the flip. With a miniature table-top "tripod." More like a trypod.

You feel shame, Geof.

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

UAH has never had a problem recruiting kids to play simply because they're in Alabama. Ever.
A friend that I went to Tech with played high school hockey in MN, he was recruited by UAH and D3 teams. He told me that he just couldn't go play hockey in Alabama and wasn't interested in D3. He probably made the right choice, I think he just enjoyed playing at the IM level and getting an engineering degree. But you probably shouldn't say "never".

An early look at one of Michigan's top 2011 signings:

Looks like I will not be able to see the Bemidji State-Michigan game on Saturday. I just went to ESPN360 and my internet provider is not a carrier listed by them....... **** THEM ALL TO HELL!

But I will have Schultzie to listen to, so give it hell Schultzie!

I had a wee tripod. It's not as bad as last time.

GFM <-- using a $100 camera. That's what the budget has these days.

So that's why we always have such trouble fielding a full team. Thanks so much for clearing that up.

My original statement stands. Has never been a problem.
