Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

I-65 is 6 lanes for a very solid portion of Kentucky. I would know, I've driven it multiple times. The dirt roads are in eastern Kentucky, near Lexington :p

With no dog in this NCAA tourney fight, I'm throwing my lot in with BSU. I love Beavers. :D

Furry Green Beavers or Edible Beavers? :D :p

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

This was the (my) expectation of Danton Cole from the day he was hired. Year three, NCAA tournament.

We're not "happy to be here." We expected to be here. And we are.

Are you kidding?! This is the best most far fetched comment yet! You are Bemidji States perennial whipping boy year in and year out!! I laughed out loud when i read it. Your team is six games below .500 has no conference to even call its own next year. Was ranked DEAD LAST in the inside college hockey's Great 58 and you "Expected to be here." Hahaha awesome!! Completely Amazing. One question... What's it like in your fantasy world?

You're right, you don't. And it is.

Take out our abysmal homestand in November and this is an over .500 team.

Any Charger who is just "happy to be here" is a Charger who needs to find another team as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah and they will find a new team. When your college stops having it's own team. "Take out our abysmal".... Stop making excuses for your team's inadequacies! Just stop it's sad. This is supposed to be a happy time.

Didn't Michigan get swept by UNO?

Yes, and UNO earned it, but that was weeks ago.

But, what's that got to do with Miami losing to them? OSU taking Miami to three games? I saw a 2-2 trend coming into the CCHA championships- maybe a bit of relaxation/overconfidence on their part, even though they wanted to win the tourney. They were on cruise mode since December.

Yes we didn't play well, but with all the posts that we hit and Hunwick leaving out 3726 rebounds in front of the net that hopped over our sticks, that game still could have gone either way. Those 3 quick goals in the 3rd hurt, but up until that point it was still a close game.

Is it that hard to give your opponent a little credit? Your team got outplayed, period. The rest are excuses. How many times did Reichard get yanked this season? It may be the best thing that happened to your team going into the NCAA's.

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

I'm sorry but putting my beloved beavs against Michigan in Michigan a vitural home game. When Michigan is a three seed. Way to go committee!! Hope we stick it to them just like notre dame last year. Cinderalla is back people!!

Last I checked, Ft. Wayne is in Indiana, about a 2 hour drive from A2.
I'm guessing the same distance via air for UAH and BSU.

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

Bemidgi's youngest player turns 21 in a couple of weeks. Looks like they have a seven year plan. Very progressive.

ps That #2 jet appears to be from the Michigan Air Nat. Guard out of Selfridge AF Base near Mt. Clemons, Mi.

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

Intidaled I believe I spelled it correctly. Let's use it in a sentence... Michigan feels intidaled to be in the frozen four tournament no matter what.

Beware the tsunami that is Michigan.

You can tell that BeaverFever09 is a current student; BSU alumni can spell and use good grammar. They also learn to hate Huntsville while they're there, but that's forgivable.

We were thoroughly outplayed, outskated, made to look tentative with the puck and the player of the year made to look human. Red's gameplan was brilliant and Rico did not make the right adjustments to his.

If we're fortunate enough to beat Huntsville, a rematch with either BSU or U-M will be quite welcomed by the team, I'm certain. And, a rematch with U-M would be welcomed by me.

To get over the mental hump, we have to beat Michigan when it counts, and this would certainly qualify.

With all the motivation in the world sitting out there, I like our chances in this bracket. But, also considering the circumstances, I see both Saturday games as close games with both Miami and Michigan getting a little ahead of themselves.

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

Man I wish I could make this regional. An all CHA final with a berth to the Frozen Four would be awesome.

Now, don't lump all of us BSU fans into the same group based on the comments of a few, and we won't do that to the fans of other teams. I respect all the teams in the bracket, and all of them did what they needed to do to get there. BSU won early and often and hit a little speed bump at the end. Hopefully the two weeks off has allowed them to get healthy, refocus and find their groove from earlier in the year. Alabama-Huntsville won the CHA tournament, something BSU couldn't do, and they got the autobid, as did Michigan in the CCHA.

I like what Cole has done at UAH. I really had a hard time giving the Chargers any respect when Doug Ross was the head coach as I don't think BSU and UAH had any respect for each other on the ice, and it carried over into the stands. But under Cole, I have seen that change. The games are still intense and the fans love the games between the two teams, but there seems to be a little more respect there.

So for me, I will be cheering for the Chargers this weekend, unless they end up playing the Beavers. Then for me, I will be back to "hating" Huntsville!

PS- I am a BSU grad, so I hope my grammer and spelling was correct!

Have I told you lately that I love you, Millsy? :)

I agree that Danton has brought a different mindset to Huntsville. If nothing else, we're not leading the NCAAs in penalties every year! ;)

Bemidji State's youngest player is 19. I believe they have two skaters under the age of 21 :D They tend to recruit older players that have 2-3 years of junior experience.

Re: Midwest Regional, Miami vs. Alabama-Huntsville, Bemidji State vs. Michigan

It's like they think they're a DYNASTY or something. :D

They might think that they are in the CHA, but they have as many CHA championships as a defunct team, and only one more than their rivals.

Oh, and they don't have possession of the McLeod Cup, either. ;)

And it is all within the rules that the NCAA has set forth, so I just never understand why people try and bring age into arguements. If you don't like that they have older players, than get the NCAA to change the rules.

Must be alright since they won the conference you supposedly "own". Boy you are in for a rude awkening next season......

Very true. It's not like BSU had the recruiting power to ink high school-superstars prior to this year. Serratore has a system that seems to work well, why would he change it? For the most part, the Beavs roster is a group of very mature, well-rounded guys that are here for two reasons. To get an education and to play hockey while doing so. You don't see guys walking off the team to go play in the big show, and that's the way we like it.
