Penn st. would be the ideal choice. There have been rumors about them starting the process. Especially with the study they did on building a new on campus facility.

On ice performance has no relevance on if a team gets in a conference or not. Its sad people can't see past that and only look at the surface...

If that's the case UNO wouldn't of gotten in from being a club program, and neither would of Kent st. or University of Illinois-Chicago. Look past the surface, conferences are about money....

It is beyond me why people can't get this concept. If they don't know it, all they need to do is look at the Big 10. The only reason that Notre Dame is the lead dog in becoming #12 is about money and prestige. It's that simple. Teams' abilities and on ice performances go through cycles. I have no doubt that UAH is/will get better as a program. But that has nothing to do with the stalled application.

Wait a second...You mean the Big 10 doesn't want Notre Dame because of their outstanding performance on the football field the last 10 years?? :rolleyes:

above statement is no knock on Notre Dame or anyone associated with them.

Before this talks gets any further, Notre Dame is not joining the Big 10.

I'm not sure the Big 10 is even going to actively pursue Notre Dame again, after being spurned more than once. Whatever overtures ND makes in that direction will amount to due diligence and playing one party off another in getting the best deals they can from NBC and the BCS.

Alums and influential boosters around here are in a foul mood because of 10, 15, or more years of poor decisions by the athletic administration, and a move away from football independence (and the B10 wouldn't even think of having ND in everything BUT FB -- like the Big East does) would likely be cause for a revolution.

Lets face it the two things done completely right at Notre Dame since Lou Holtz "resigned" have been hockey related. Not the highest priority at Our Lady's university. One, they got lucky that Jackson was available, and two, decided to build a new rink only because Jackson threatened to use whatever escape clause was in his contract unless they s h ! 7 or got off the toilet with regard to facilities. Sort of the definition of falling into a pile of s h ! 7 and coming up smelling like a rose.

Now back to hockey. Enjoy the games everybody!

Ok,

We know UAH is not joining a conference, particularly the CCHA, next season (nor is Notre Dame joining B10) We also know that there's SO much to talk about on this subject that it could have it's own thread. Can we move this there? I want them in the CCHA just as much as the next guy.

But this is about today and tomorrow.

UAH vs. Miami

and

Michigan vs. BSU.

I'd love to see UAH give Miami it's run for their money- good hockey is always fun to watch. But, I just don't see it happening. Sorry UAH fans, I just don't see it happening. For sure, it would be a pretty stunning upset- a much, much bigger one than the one that happened to Denver. (they think it's Chamanade vs. Georgetown- which I think it kind of a joke- not even close). I wish you all the luck and speed....

The more interesting game in the region is Michigan vs. Bemidji State. Can BSU continue it's run that it started WAAAY back into last year (and hope to carry deep into their first few seasons in the WCHA)? Or is recent play by Michgian the real Michigan, or will we see the one we've seen earlier in the season.

Both teams are saying "our system can play with anyone" and that's probably quite true. So who's system will be able to interrupt the other? Both teams are fast, like to hit, not afraid, etc etc- (we all use these silly buzz words- no idea why- they are pretty meaningless- if you were afraid, and didn't like to hit, you have no business in NCAA D1 hockey what so ever. Speed is normally with the top teams- so DUH, both teams will be pretty quick).

Can Red come up with a game plan where they can cycle the puck low for a LONG time, so that BSU has to dump and change instead of attack AND interrupt the neutral zone enough to frustrate BSU? Or can Frank come up with a scheme where UM can't posses the puck as they come into the offensive zone, turn it around quickly, and take advantage of UM's defensive issues?

Or both?

Just got to the Holiday Inn next to the coliseum and saw a group of people wearing shorts; I figure that must be the Bemidji crowd. :D

Look at this kid! Hey when you graduate in 2010 “I am assuming by your handle”... Maybe then you can get your own hockey column and can tell everybody else how smart you are and how we all need to listen to your words of wisdom till then.... Well till then you’re just another tard bogging about how your Miami Red Hawks are the foremost in college hockey. This is for fun. None of us are real major NCAA players or decision makers otherwise we would not be caught dead here. Oh and by the way you can not tell me that a program's prestige does not come into play when a conference is looking at it for admission. And GUESS how a team builds ups its prestige genius??? Winning you arrogant child so go back to school and stop trying to act like your the pages moderator this is for fun.:D By the way I hope Alabama embarrasses you guys today on the U! Never heard of suddenly losing weight either. Like ya wake up and are like,"Whoa!! what happen last night!! Were'd my weight go!" haha. Whats up with atlantic refs?? Are they wusses or what? Because I think both huntsville and bemidji plan on grinding it out prolly won't be pretty.

East coast refs don't like contact. Like the ECAC refs in the Vermont/Wisconsin game last night.
