Is this that common? I had a lot of friends go to Minnesota and called it the 'U', not da 'U'. I call it the 'U' as well. I know, I know, small sample size, but I would venture to say a lot more people call Minnesota the 'U' over da 'U'.

Well yeah, I'm just throwing in a little Minnesota accent there...eh? Of course Miami is theoretically "the U" too.

Why you keep insisting that our hockey team is in the MAC conference is beyond my knowledge. Remember we're in the same conference? Maybe you don't remember. It's called the CCHA. We've both been a part of that conference for a while now.

And as for your students forgetting that we even existed, maybe its because you're too busy to think of anything else outside your town. Stop the presses. The world is ending because there is something outside Ann Arbor, yet alone a hockey team ranked HIGHER. WHAT?!?!??! It's a sign of the apocalypse. :D

Hey maybe Ben Rothlesburger will come to Miami's hockey game I mean they'll be plenty of hot college girls there for him to get drunk and choke out when he's had too many. Haha!! Sorry maybe too soon.

Looks like the guys are pretty pumped! Matt Read says it best: if we play Beaver hockey, we should have no problem with any team in the nation.

If you don't understand that he's an irritating fan that has the #2 goal of getting under the skin of every non Michigan fan in the world (Well, I think that's #2, with Michigan willing as #1, but who knows), well, then I can't tell you that you are basically wrestling with a pig here.

Interesting clip you posted. I've heard the similar quote of "if we play Michigan hockey we can beat anyone". So we'll have to see if Saturday's game is dominated by Beaver hockey, Michigan hockey, or something completely different.

I also liked in the clip how the interviewer said something about an underdog roll, and the palyer replied well, we're the number 2 seed in the regional.

They did the same for all four regionals. :rolleyes: That way, it only took half the time to prepare. They should have at least mentioned that BSU was returning to the tournament for the second straight year.

I liked Matt Read's answers. He's starting to sound like Beaver head coach Tom Seratorre. "You know what..."

I also agree that the Beavers are the hardest working team in college hockey. Theirs is a time full of grinders who play smart defensive hockey and they can hang with anyone. A lot of people thought they wouldn't hang with Miami earlier this season and they did. Same can be said for a quick team like UMD, and the Beavs swept UMD.

I'm hoping for an all-CHA regional final. I wouldn't be surprised if UAH beats Miami. Weirder things have happened, not that long ago when BSU upset Notre Dame.

The best thing about this season is "the system." You team plays their system, our team plays ours, whichever team executes their system better wins. They focus less on star players or hotshot goalies, they just play the way they know works best for them. It's certainly a different animal than other sports. God, I love college hockey!!

Let's go Beavers!! Get it done this weekend!!

Bemidji State University Athletics - Fox Sports North has agreed to broadcast the Bemidji State University-University of Michigan Midwest Regional semifinal contest live from Fort Wayne, Ind. at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Fox Sports North can been seen locally on Paul Bunyan Television channel 56 and Midcontinent Communications channel 27. For satellite subscribers, the BSU-Michigan game can be found on channel 436 for Dish Network customers and on channel 668 for those with DirecTV service.See More

It only makes sense that they preview the four top seeds and predict who they think will move on to the regional final and FF. Just like belly buttons, everyone has an opinion.

The "sidekicks" being a former NHL tool and a former U-Michigan player and color analyst for college hockey games.

But yes, all the schools should have at least been given some mention. I don't think any of the 4th seeds were given much of a chance, but that is why they play the games.

I am fully aware that you are a Michigan fan. I'm not sure why I was so defensive directly to you, and for that I apologize.

And now to throw another wrench into the whole "The U" topic: medical professionals from across The University of Michigan Health system refer to University Hospital at The University of Michigan as "The U". Chew on that one minnehaha residents.

Once again wooderson I meant nothing in any of my posts to offend you directly. I'm just not a fan of minnesota, although I do respect their hockey program (even after this horrendous season).

Is Bemidji bringing their Goldy gopher look alike mascot to the game? If my default for all mascots is to chant "beaver" at them regardless of what they are supposed to be....what should I yell at Bemidji's mascot?
