Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

Re: Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

What are the chances that a guy can show up at about 6:00 and be able to buy a spot on the rail somewhere?

rail spots are very hard to come by unless you have it for a season ticket.

Depends on how highly attended the game is, and how important your angle is. Not that there are many bad sight lines. Anyway, I've gotten there as late as 6:30 and nabbed a couple rail spots many times - Primelink, Wick, and Elmira games this season included. I'm always on the rail, usually over in section C so I can talk to a friend of mine, and I've never had a season ticket.

Dang it! there's a snowstorm predicted to start Tuesday afternoon. That's not going to make the trip any easier.:(

Thanks for the seating info, there are no online advanced sales over there yet are there?

Remember you're talking about a place where advanced technology is a working scoreboard :D

Re: Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

Panthers get to play #5, #7, #3 and #9...all in a 11 day span. This is a test........

Re: Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

Middlebury's just a non-ranked, middle of the lightly-regarded NESCAC pack team this year. A mere blip on the radar for ranked teams like Plattsburgh and Norwich.

Yeah right. Try convincing anyone in Norwich that Middlebury is just what you described above. That's the game every year that everyone cares about no matter what the records are.

:DI'll remember that you said that

At first I thought that you were serious, but now I'm wondering if this is just the beginning of the traditional anti-jinx jargon that goes along with "THE GAME";)

Does anybody know how John Barr is? He came off during the Bowdoin game with what looked like a leg injury.

Re: Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

I don't know about the status of John Barr, but if I did, I know better than to comment on injuries on this board.I hope that he's on the mend, and it's not as serious as it looked when he left the ice.
On another note, Congratulations to John Yanchek for being selected NESCAC player of the week! I felt that he certainly deserved it, and was hoping that they'd notice.

Re: Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

panthers have struggled this year at the start. they should be recruiting kids from the ushl and nahl

Re: Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

Crap, I just wrote a lengthy post about tonight's game and lost it when I went "advanced" just to put a smilie on the freaking thing:mad::mad::mad: I'm going to bed

That's what Hawk keeps saying! Maybe someday you guys will get it.

Get what? That losing is acceptable? We just lost to a team who got shut out...at home....by Cortland......CORTLAND!.......CORTLAND!!!!

Seriously? What is there to get? Is it because the poor kids from the USHL and NAHL don't have large enough trust funds to get past the pearly gates at Buckingham Palace, I mean Middlebury College? I certainly hope not. I worked my tail off and was fortunate to get into Midd. With the tough academic standards that we have, you would think they would hold the same accountability to the performance of the hockey team. The downward spiral has been taken to new heights this year. We have become the punch line of D3 hockey. So much so that the jokes wore out in December and we are not even relevant anymore.

There is so much turmoil on the bench this year it is ridiculous. The prep school kids may bring in $$$ but they also bring in a larger issue to the room, the Drama Llama.

Perhaps when the turmoil on the bench goes away they can start winning games. Sadly with the players Beaney the Unicorn is bringing in, the Drama Llama is not going away anytime soon. We are on course to finish this season sub .500, which I will point out I predicted just a couple years ago. It pains my heart to watch what was once such a respectable program fall to such a level that we become an automatic W on the calendar of out opponents.

Norwich is going to school us this Friday, and you know why? They have kids from Canadian junior leagues. Why you ask? Because THEY GET IT. So before you get all wound up and unpop your collar, take a moment and ponder that maybe you and Beaney and the Middlebury Athletic Dept. are the ones who don't get it. If this continues, I suggest you pick up the following at our prestigious library.

Because this is not going to stop until Beaney the Purple Dinosaur is goes back to his Jurassic era.

Or did they lose to the team that has beaten Norwich (twice), Neumann, smacked around Williams, and was 1:21 away from beating Elmira settling for a tie.

From what I was told Middlebury was just as good if not better then Plattsburgh especially late in the game. The reason there are jokes is because you go from a million titles back to reality.

Has Middlebury dropped?? Sure. But a lot of other teams have A) figured out Beanys system and B) raised their program up to Middleburys.

Because of double B D-III hockey had to change their style to a more faster, skilled, technically style instead of the harder, bigger, more physical style. Teams recruit different, practice different, and play different.

Now you know how the rest of us felt for many years with Midd being "up" there

Thank you,PSU Champs, that was very well put. I have to be honest , I was proud of the way MIDD played last night. I think that they proved that they can skate with the best in DIII. No they didn't win, but they had a discouraging start, and didn't falter. Instead they worked extremely hard to get back in the game, and NEVER let up.
Because I look through "rose colored glasses" I wouldn't dare say that MIDD "looked" better than the Cards, but I'd have to say that I think they outworked them, especially late in the game.

You're welcome, but I'm still gagging on my own vomit for defending Middlebury! I know if I were in the NESCAC I wouldn't want to see Middlebury in a one and done game!

Give them credit for changing the game for all of us, has it made the game better, yes. Is BB a great coach yes. Do we want to trample them Friday - oh yeah!

Re: Middlebury Panthers Hockey 2010- 2011

No rose (or blue) colored glasses here...frankly, I wans't impressed by the play of either team.
