Michigan Wolverines 2015-2016 Season

Re: Michigan Wolverines 2015-2016 Season

More aware on D is a good way of putting it. They appeared to play better, but still had some big gaffes- and it was interesting that the 2-1 that Niagara scored on was Werensky. Not sure what to make of that, but...

The offence really did look better- flowed and did some passing that new in the upper slot.

And the opening play- which was clearly scripted- was pretty cool. Almost scored on that one.

Chad looked nervous to start with, but once he let that goal in, it looked to us that he settled down. It was nice to see a game where he could get in and get some playing time.

Okay, on to BU... this is the weekend all of the media hockey know it alls are pointing to see if U-M is a paper doll or not.

I say BU can score five but we can score six. Not the way to win games, but it would be fun to watch.

Come out with favorable results and there is hope to make the national tourney.

And a reminder that the Dekers are hosting a watch party- you do NOT need to be a Deker to attend. I'm sure being a Michigan fan is highly encouraged, though. ;)

The first Dekers watch party of the season is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Nov. 20, when U-M visits Boston University. Faceoff is 6 p.m. We will convene at Revel & Roll (formerly Colonial Lanes) at 1950 S. Industrial Hwy in Ann Arbor. Stay tuned for more details as television availability in Michigan is still being determined.

Re: Michigan Wolverines 2015-2016 Season

Could anyone find if this weekend's games will be broadcast in our area? It doesn't look like it to me. Which I find terrible as on paper, BU is the best team we'll face this season (currently ranked 10th, for comparison, Union is currently ranked 18th and the B1G sucks so we're the only conference team currently ranked). I accept that this early in a season, rankings aren't all that meaningful, but certainly games against a good Hockey East team will be when it's time to look at the pairwise.

I'm excited for these games, as I think they'll show us what kind of team we have. As usual, I expect keeping the puck out of our net will be the struggle. BU is currently averaging 3.4 goals/game.

That was one question that Matt Trevor needed to answer for the Dekers event at Revel and Roll- who is going to broadcast it?

Being that the event is official, I'm figuring that it's on somewhere.

New England Sports Network for Friday was all I found. Not a station I get, I guess I'll be headed to the Dekers event to watch the game. Didn't see anything listed for Saturday (probably too much football to compete with).

DirecTV channel 628 for those who buy the regional sports package.

sparty has a very good strength of schedule. They're playing Denver, NoDik, Michigan Tech, BC, and Northeastern (who sucks but is in Hockey East) out of conference. I think that this is the first time that I've ever been envious of sparty. Now if sparty can actually win a majority of those games is another question. They're already 0-3 and the next 2 weekends they have Tech and NoDik.

As been discussed repeatedly here our non-conference is this weekend.

SoS is only great if you win those games. But yes, I agree their schedule this season is noteworthy...... but it may also keep them from becoming an at large if they do not win the B1G tourney.

Now, our problem is exactly the opposite. The SoS is average at best, with no NCHC teams on the schedule, a couple ECAC teams along with NMU and possibly Tech. Losing, at home in poor form to RMU will stand out also if Michigan tanks out this weekend and going foward. In general, the whole B1G suffers from losing their share of nc games regardless of who they play- but especially against the heavyweights from the HEA and NCHC.

Yep, great guy. I hung-out with him and the rest of the team in 2004. What's up with Brandon?

He's engaged to one of my co-workers. Lives here in Boston now. He'll be at the games this weekend.

Wow. While it's a small world, one would never expect that small.

My story of something similar isn't quite as close- the associate Dean of engineering at Idaho- where I went to get my undergrad- her niece married Kevin Hogan a couple of years ago. How in the world did that connection happen.

Have fun at the game- and hope to run into you at Tampa.

That's why you play 60 minutes guys, 50 isn't good enough. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Re: Michigan Wolverines 2015-2016 Season

I was very impressed by Michigan's speed. BU really struggled to get anything going, and it was due to the fact that Michigan was in their face before they could get two strides under them. BU pulled it out but I would not surprised to see Michigan go further than BU this year. What an entertaining game.

Thank you but we'll see where we are come March. I have saw this movie before.
