Re: MICHIGAN TECH OFFSEASON THREAD II: The Winning has started
Well, after blabbing about the forwards that Mel will have to work with being solid, I decided to actually take a quick look back at the final stats from last year. I really hope Jordan Baker works himself like a demon this summer to get back into shape for his super-senior year. Healthy Olson could have 25-30 assists centering healthy versions of Baker and Gordic. That would allow guys like Furne, B. Pietila, Johnstone, or whatever mystery recruit Mel might land in the next couple months, to try and form a second scoring line. Everyone else can battle it out for the energy/checking lines.
The most glaring issue by far is the D. After Seigo (who is just above-average himself), it's inconsistent and penalty-prone (Neilsen), young (Sova, Fillion), or not that good to begin with (Dorito).
The goaltending...as soon as Robo and Genoe stop seeing 40 shots a night, those numbers should start improving. Most nights, they got shelled like vintage CuJo out there.
