Re: MICHIGAN TECH OFFSEASON THREAD II: The Winning has started

I have always wondered what was said that got those two going in the first place. I figured it was some angry person who was getting us back for some reason.

On another note I miss the swami, his input was valuable.

I tend to think it was a regular poster poking fun at our tendency to turn our own threads into extensions of tLodge/TRP/HGYBI!, etc. from the Cafe side.

Thiis thread is so reminiscent of the munchkins coming back out in the Wizard of Oz once its safe and the witch is gone

Let me know when we get to throw a bucket of water on someone.

I just figured two people that just enjoyed being annoying.

I thought they were two idiots that were too stupid to know that they were really ****ing annoying. Or one really stupid person and another poster trying to be annoying while taking advantage of the other's stupidity.

That is what I thought. I believe Yooper was trying to be annoying, and TechnoHusky was honestly that annoying.

Re: Economics of Liechtenstein

Hockey anyone? About 2 pages back JohnsonsJerseys posted something about re-alignment and no one said anything. Are we suddenly anti-speculation?

I'm just trying to change the subject from the "2 posters" because the point was to get rid of them and now we're still talking about them.

FYI, I have been "informed" (and I don't think he'll mind if I reveal this part of his info), that thanks to multiple complaints from players' parents about the poor quality of the Huskies Live feed, the camera system has been upgraded and should be much improved this fall. :)

Huskyfan can vouch for the source.

Just read this, great to see! UND has JumpTV as well and the quality of their video feed is much better than ours.

It all hinges on what Notre Dame does. Based on stuff I've heard, I believe that the WCHA may reach out them, but it sounds like they are more interested in Hockey East and will pursue that first (I doubt it happens, but it is ND after all, so we'll see).

Re: Economics of Liechtenstein

Re: Economics of Liechtenstein

Those of us over in the CCHA are more concerned. If Notre Dame goes to Hockey East, that leaves us:
NMU, UAf, LSSU, FSU, WMU, BGSU, MIA.

MTU would be a geographical fit for the GLIAC/MAC CCHA, but I don't know if the CCHA or Miami want to pursue that. There have been rumblings (and I'm for it) for the CCHA pursuing Mercyhurst/BobbyMo/Niagara in an effort to add teams. It's a haul for NMU/LSSU, but it would keep the Central in CCHA.

As much as I'd love to see the 'Cats return to their National Championship home, the flights to Colorado every year would be killer. As would now having to pay for trips to Anchorage. Squarebanks still books and pays for 25 round trips tickets.

Re: Economics of Liechtenstein

More importantly, I know for a fact that Tech doesn't have much interest in pursuing that.

Yeah, I think Tech is better off hanging with what's left of the Minnesota schools instead of Michigan GLIAC/MAC schools for starters. You'll never hear me say such nice things durring the season, but those four do provide a solid block in the league (even with Jutting still around).

Not sure why ND would want to play in HE? It's not like it's the Big East. I would think they would have an easier auto-bid in the CCHA and there will be plenty of openings for them to play B10 teams if they feel a need to do.

Schools like BC, BU, and Providence are more recognizable to the casual Notre Dame sports fan and more in-line with their academic goals than the remainder of the CCHA, or the top dogs in the new WCHA (North Dakota/tUMD/Denver).

Providence is a member of Hockey East, so they have the Big East (non) rivalry right off the bat, along with the similar minded school Boston College. Throw in a Non-con against fellow Big East school Connecticut, and they pretty much have their schedule set.

I don't see Hockey East going it with 11 teams (unless they think that ND is worth it to cause more unbalance in the schedule), so either someone goes, or someone joins with ND.

I don't see schools like Lowell, Vermont, or Merrimack too happy about flights to South Bend every other year, but, they may enjoy the trade off of selling yet another big name opponent in their barn*.

* Call it the B1G/CCHA effect. Nothing packs the place more than watching your home team fight the "big bad evil powerhouse school."

Re: Economics of Liechtenstein

Traveling to SB wouldn't be the main issue. It's the nasty scheduling that adding ND would create, unless they add a 12th team, and I just don't see them doing that.

Aw, I'm the good witch? :)

I always felt that Glenda was more naive than good, so it's a perfect fit. :p
