So with the increase in pay, does Mel now increase his timeline to get the team to .500 status? ;)

I actually broke my jersey out of the closet when I got home from work. Gonna wear it all night. :)

Who would have thought that it could be a better day for Michigan Tech then the Detroit Red Wings. ;)

So far, their performance has been the only downside to this entire week for me.

With all the coaching news it looks like the hockey part of the Tech website was updated today.

The schedule for next year is posted eventhough I had seen it on TechHockeyGuide.com, Link

the coaches website isn't blank anymore, it doesn't have Mel yet, but has everyone else

The roster is up without the freshmen, no surprises from what I could tell

First thing that stands out to me is 26 returning players. A roster that's the same size as most schools 4 year rosters. And as of right now we'll have 5 freshman, unless someone is held back.

So I know this is way behind the times but I am curious as to what exactly Eric Kattelus did to be dismissed from the team last season. I read there had been issues the previous season but I never heard anything about them and thought he was a good player and good guy, I seemed to be wrong on that though.

The word is that he was stealing team equipment, specifically expensive composite sticks, and selling them.

That's not cool. I know he had some on ice issues once or twice too that I never saw, at least that's what I saw in the threads.

And just noticed this - Andrew Kolb is no longer listed as a Michigan Tech recruit. Must have thought this past season raised his stock and used the coaching change to decommit.

Hmmm, that just happened within the last week. As for raising his stock, he was a 21 year-old playing in the NAHL, and had the type of season you'd expect in Tier II juniors from a guy that age. Meh.

He was one of Russell's very last commits, so it seems more likely that he just didn't want to play for a new coach.
