Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread I: Not Winning and the ensuing drama.

Well if he has a NLI signed he can't go elsewhere unless he's released.

Did he ever sign an NLI? Usually there is a University write-up when they get a group of players to officially commit during the main signing period. I don't recall one involving Kero.

Re: Michigan Tech Offseason Thread I: Not Winning and the ensuing drama.

I don't believe this.

North Dakota does not need to steal recruits from MTU.

Kero will be a Huskie. Johnson will also follow providing the right coach is hired.

Then, the nucleus begins to form and the resurgence can begin if a Blashill like coach with a plan is hired.

You can believe what you want. It is a free country.

The non-believers believe there is strength in numbers. A good strategy; maybe if you can get enough, it'll make it not true.

had heard differently this past fall. from extremely reliable source. so are you saying losing Jamie means we are losing recruits?? ;):)

If you would read correctly, I never said anything about losing recruits. What I said was that being Russell recruited Kero and now Russell is gone, it opens the door for people to pursue him. If the case was that the player was upset the coach who recruited him was now gone, it would be very possible that the player moves on to a team who wants him (thus the reason for pursuing him) as the next coach may or may not want him as to whether he fits his style. I believe Russell was quoted as saying he spent his first few years getting rid of the "non-believers"- players he didn't recruit that weren't buying into his system. Very possibly could happen to any of the current players on the team with the next coaching staff. So if Kero had reservations on the next coach who was hired, it could be well possible he moves on.

With saying this I also know that as long as the next coach appears to be a good fit, he has full intentions of coming to MTU. The other recruits for next year - who knows. You may also have the case where the next head coach could go thru next years recruits and eliminate them if he doesn't feel they are beneficial to his rebuild. A bigger class could be selected by him for his second season. At this point, alot of things are up in the air.

This is a very different statement than the one you originally made about Kero being pursued by NDAK. I"m with Huskiefan906 on this one. I don't see North Dakota looking at Tech for recruits to pick off. I'm sure that Kero is a solid player, but he's a borderline NAHL/USHL prospect. Great for Tech, probably not on the map for UND.

I think we're gonna need the wahbulance!! we got no coach and now we're not gonna have any more players! wah!

Well hello USCHO, I've missed you haha

Ok so Tech was the host for the regional in Green Bay? I find that a bit ironic, as I have been lounging around all day in a Tech shirt and a Packers hoodie :)

original statement - T.Kero is being pursued by NO DAK and others being Tech is coachless. - I'm not seeing any differences at all.

But regardless, I see you're joining the non-believer numbers crowd; and folks we only need 3 more non-believers and the once true statement turns to false; does this work the other way as well? Lets everybody start believing this: Techs going to win the WCHA next year.

You're also making asinine statements; borderline NAHL/USHL prospect?? He's not playing for the bulldogs anymore. He led the NAHL in scoring as a senior and made the USHL all star game this year. And I'm pretty sure North Dakota doesn't have a pity clause in their recruiting tactics that keeps them away from Techs recruits.

IF North Dakota has contacted Tanner Kero, that would be tampering and UND could get into ALOT of trouble...I'm pretty sure there is a clause against that.
