Darcy doesn't have a monopoly on PIM records, but he has a substantial mark on that category. I'm actually most impressed with Osborne's FIVE penalties in one period. That's an angry hockey player... And the coaches kept putting him back on the ice!

Because it's a Spiders jersey. They're very rare on the market (well, rare enough that it seems that only one per year changes hands, if that).

Didn't see much that caught my eye this time on that auction site. Seemed like it was quite a sellers market this time around too.

I guess this post fits under the heading of "You can only have so much stuff..."

I am putting up for sale about a dozen of the original gold seats from the John MacInnes Ice Arena. I have run out of space to keep all this stuff so some of it has to go. I have set a reasonable price on them and I am offering them to Tech fans / alumni first before I post in other public areas. They are currently in groups of four and would prefer to sell them that way if possible as it will save me a lot of work. I'm willing to deal on the price if you want a larger quantity of them.

The seats are in the Plymouth, MN area and I am really not interested in shipping them. However I might be willing to deliver them a reasonable distance.

First come, first served.

My wife was just telling me she wished my 2 seats were seperate so if you get someone that wants to buy 3 seats, I'll buy 1 with only one arm.

Hmm, Looking back at some over the board posts I just noticed that he mentioned Raymond Bryce, Forward - Houghton High School (MI-HS) as a potential college player...interesting.

EDIT: Apparently its actually Raymond Brice.

It's been pretty quiet on the recruiting front, but it looks like Tech picked up a commitment from D-man Jake Olson out of Hill-Murray.

It's summer; looks like we got another player yesterday. ;)

I assume everyone is anxious to hear about Whitten's replacement (as am I). I'm guessing we'll hear sometime in June, so perhaps 2-4 more weeks. Wouldn't shock me if Pearson and Whitten were lobbying a few of the same guys.

Hate to say it, but I also wouldn't be shocked if Mel's over-recruitment led to Whitten convincing a couple of guys to switch their commitment with promises of quicker ice time.

I really couldn't see Whitten doing that, however if he did we certainly know where he would stand on the gentleman's agreement going forward. Also I didn't think players could change their commitment based only on an assistant coaching change.

Also if anyone is looking for a game gold jersey, I picked up a game issued jersey from OT sports. It was left over stock that I was offered when I purchase the prototype jerseys a couple weeks ago. If anyone has an interest, it can be yours for $150 including shipping. Superior Monogramming in Houghton can prob hook you up with a nameplate as they did all the names for the jerseys.

If they haven't signed a National Letter of Intent, they are free to go wherever they wish. Verbal commitments mean nothing to the NCAA and hold no technical significance.

Cannot wait for the roster, with Heinonen, Vallis, and Gould competing with the new guys, we should have a great lineup every night.
Eick is going to have to battle with all the LW's heading to Houghton.

I seriously doubt Damon Whitten would steal any recruits.
The short term gain, not worth, the image issue going forward.

Finally checking in after some time and find that you've let Tech allow Damon go to LSSU. What's the latest on a replacement? I agree that it would be great to see Cam back in the Copper Country (and he married a local girl). Shelast has also been around for a year, so that may play out too. Not sure Shields found what he was looking for in Houghton.

Anything further on Jimmer? Some indicated a possible USHL gig. I was thinking there might be an announcement now that the Clark Cup is done.

Sorry for being gone so long. Missed youse guys.
