Not Pooley!

If we're back to this...

1. Cary Eades
2. Throw more money at Cary Eades
3. Offer Cary Eades free hookers along with the extra money

Shirtless, why has Eric Rud dropped off the favorite list?
I thought he had been the head coach at GB for a few years, coached McCadden and Furne to the USHL championship, etc. He did a great job in his one year with the Gamblers but I would like to see more before I put him in my "Top 3."

Why isnt Jon Cooper former Green Bay Gambler on the list he coached McCadden, Furne, and Johnston with Green Bay.

He won as coach with St Louis and Green Bay. He even coached in the Detroit area AAA hockey.

Jon Cooper a Prince George, BC native is coaching Norfolk of the AHL. He knows a few of the present Sophmore players and is a winner? Is he possible coach?

No. Someday he will be an NHL coach. Going from Norfolk to Tech would not improve his chances or speed up his entry into the NHL.

Since he wants to be an NHL Head Coach, I would agree that he would not be interested but if he were I'd put him near the top of my list.

Talking about the NHL, wasnt there a coach at MTU who left to pursue to be an NHL head coach named Newell Brown, he has jumped from Colmbus, Anaheim, and Vancouver as an assistant coach.

Would Newell Brown ever consider coming back to MTU and finish what he started since he NEVER became the "Head NHL coach."?

Not a chance. Especially with how NHL coaches get fired. On top of that he has a great shot at getting Stanley this year. He came to Tech specifically as a quick stepping stone and the Wings picked him up fast.

so why did Whitten get canned already if there's nobody steering the ship? Or did he?

Whitten's job situation was mostly rumor that appears to be wrong (like everything else right now). Nothing has officially happen to Whitten yet.

But it has been 20 years and he still has not became the head coach in the NHL.

This is his first season coaching in the pros. He has previously been in the USHL and NAHL. Not much pro experience alot of experience with younger players and winning.

Serious western bias there, Shirtless. :D Just one eastern assitant [sic]. :p (Yes, I know that Norfolk is in the east.)

For whatever reason, there appears to be a sharp line between East and West. If you look at candidate lists at schools out East, it is usually a biased emphasis on those that know the area. College hockey remains very provincial.

Re: Michigan Tech needs a new coach, what do you say Cary Eades?

Suzanne needs to regroup quick. I trust her ability to do that.

Still, I can't shake the feeling that she will have to "settle" for a lateral move now. :-/

we tried one of those eastern assistants last time. It did not end well.

Re: Michigan Tech needs a new coach, what do you say Cary Eades?

Whitten has NOT been fired. his going or staying will depend on the new coach and if he wants to work for him or if the new coach wants him.

I think you would need to know why Mel said no. It could have been worse with Mel staying for a couple years and leaving. So won't say she has to settle.

Still not buying the Blais thing. If he was really offered that amount then it would seem all the resources should have been available to Mel. Mel really meets with all the players and then says no? There's something wrong there. UM guarantee him the HC job in 3 years?

I'm telling you this Michigan Head Coaching gig is going to turn out like the Tonight Show. (Red=Leno, Mel=Conan).

I seem to recall that Seth Appert coached at Denver before RPI. :p

Also former RPI coach Buddy Powers left to coach BGSU.
