I don't know how it is even remotely entertaining or fun to talk in the 3rd person. It is just simply annoying, and extremely unnecessary. No more of these threads is by far the greatest benefit of not playing UMD in the future.

I just watched the umd preview and noticed something interesting. Mel does it 6 or 7 times. Petan 3, and Eick once. If you don't notice you're obviously not a real hockey fan.

All it tells me is that no one has anything novel to say about games that haven't happened yet. (And that interviewers haven't thought of any novel questions, either.) Let's see a new Mic'd with Mel video instead of these cliché-fests.

I was talking about how often they say the word "obviously". I don't know what it is about hockey but it seems to be the favorite go-to word in interviews.

Just bought 6 tickets to the Friday night game @ Wisconsin. First row, corner, 6 seats together, $160...less than 1 month until puck drop. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Tech fans may outnumber Wisconsin fans :D

We'll be getting ours soon too. I think we have a group of 10ish? We'll probably do the family pack and sit up top. I hate sitting down low at the Kohl. The Upper deck is great to see things. And you get pop and hot dog!

I got my badger tickets for free. They're being given away in droves down in Madison. I think the new USHL Madison Capitols are drawing a significant number of hockey people away from the Kohl Center on nights when both teams play.....and you can buy beer at the Capitols games....for cheap.

There will be 6 or 8 of us going too. Maybe the band can go? I know if we passed a hat we could pay their fare. :)

coaches summed it up well in the wrap-ups.

UMD put on a clinic in the first.
First time all year Tech was having to run around and chase.
Tech got better as the game went on and hopefully that will play in to how they start the game tonight.

The puck movement was back in the third, but the big guys need to finish their chances. Pietila to start the third was a great chance.

Phillips was nothing short of amazing. I would like to see Auk tonight for his skating ability after a somewhat off night by the D.
Steman, Heinonen, were very good, but Heinonen should have had at least one with the chances he generated.

I think Tech will recover tonight for the split.

There's maybe MAYBE a dozen tUMD fans here. Tech (and Gopher) fans definitely were louder. Phillips saved the game from being a blowout.
