Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.
Spread the word. For those that might not have been around when Dave Fischer was with Tech, he is one of the funniest guys around. He is in Colorado now with USA Hockey and you sometimes hear him do color commentary on Tech games with DU and CC. Fisch will be worth the price of admission just on his own.

Blue Line Club to Welcome Hall of Fame Hockey Inductees
The Michigan Tech Blue Line Club will host a special luncheon at noon on
Friday, November 6, to celebrate two inductees to the MTU Sports Hall of
Fame. The luncheon will take place at the Begg Conference Center in the
John MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
In addition to comments from head hockey coach Jamie Russell about this
weekend's match-up with the North Dakota Fighting Sioux, the event will
feature comments from 2009 hall of fame inductees Herb Boxer and Dave
Fischer.
Herb Boxer, a native of Hancock, played for the Huskies from 1967 to
1970, helping the team to a WCHA title and two NCAA Tournament
appearances. In 1968, he became the first American-born player ever
selected in an NHL draft. Boxer returned to campus as head coach from
1985 to 1990 and was named WCHA Coach of the Year in 1988.
Dave Fischer provided the hockey program with a variety of support off
the ice. While working as Michigan Tech's sports information director
from 1987 to 2004, Fischer also picked up duties as assistant athletic
director in 1997. He may be best known for his color commentary during
radio broadcasts of Tech hockey games and his hockey knowledge and humor
at Blue Line Club luncheons.
The event is open to the public; cost is $8.00 for members of the Blue
Line Club and $8.50 for the general public. The menu will include meat
and veggie pasties, coleslaw, apple sauce, tossed salad, rolls, a pickle
tray, assorted pudding parfaits, and a selection of beverages.
