Nice and sunny out... it must be hockey night in da UP!!!!!! Anyways by the end of the game last saturday I was probably more lit up than the goal lights had been all last weekend and I failed to remember if that CFB penalty by Kivisto carried a game suspension with it. Can anyone enlighten me??

GO HUSKIES this weekend!!! Send the sioux back home with their tails between their legs!!!!

It was only a misconduct, not a disqualification. So he should be able to play.

Russell post game notes:

Very happy with Genoe's play
1st period, took bad angles, so UND got a few odd man rushes
Can't play 25 mins shorthanded
Need to stay out of box
Gwilliam, McLeod, VanWagner and others benched for penalties
Kivisto outstanding tonight
Soley-Eli V-Bunger line, good energy and got mins
Pietala solid
Eli was playing D when he got his goal, taking VanWagner's spot

I agree with everything.

Best part of the game was during the National Anthem. I attempted to cover Dirty's mouth before he could commit an act of treason, so he decided to jump around to prevent me. He still got out a decent interruption, but during his jumping he messed up his back. :) I call that Karma.

As far as the hockey part of the game went I wasn't that disappointed with Tech's play other than taking too many stupid penalties. Also, the reffing was quite bad with many missed calls both ways and many calls where there most likely should not have been.

We looked pretty solid when we were actually 5 on 5, and our PK was great. Particularly when we killed off the 5 minute facewashing call along with a bit of another penalty and one called during the PK.

Hopefully tomorrow less penalties are called, and we continue playing good on the PK.

I just looked at the Finlandia boxscore, their starting goalie gave up 7 goals on 16 shots...

we spent almost half of the game one man down and got beat by the nation's number three team by two points. that's not bad.

Not good enough, surely if we had another couple local kids from Lake Linden that Jamie just completely overlooked we'd have won that game. The proof that its true will come in 4 years when one of those guys makes an ECHL team.:mad: :mad: :mad:

I honestly hope they are all benched tomorrow, honestly I dont care if we blown out of the water but Im ****ing sick to seeing the same **** every year out of our top 2 lines. They think they have their spot secured in the line up and then they go out and take stupid unnecessary penalties. I would rather watch us lose 10-0 with 3rd and 4th line guys right now cause they are the ones putting in the work and should be rewarded with the minutes

So, help a slightly older guy out who has been so into NFL mania that he's lost some of his furvor for Hockey. I know our record, but how is Tech actually looking? What do we have and what are we missing?

I would not be at all surprised if we were the most penalized team in the
wcha and you get a rep if you do it for long. then they are gunning for you and it's that much harder.
Tonight we must be extra careful about the penalties.
I think the nodaks are in for a rude awakening sometime down the road they are just not as good as the fans make them out to be.

I've only seen Tech play twice this year - the CC games - but I thought they looked ... well, certainly much better than in previous years. Kyros, I believe you were at Tech for some of those classic whippings we took, you know the 11-1, the 7-0, the 9-0, the 8-2, etc etc etc etc. We were awful! That's not Tech anymore. I remain hopeful. The penalties must stop. Especially since we have only a miminal PK. I agree with Bandit - bench them!

BTW - for you newbies out there Kyros is a famous Pep Band alum!

"definition of insanity if doing something over and over expecting a diff outcome"
frustrated as a coaching group with the dumb penalties
felt we went toe to toe with #3 team in nation when it waas 5x5
non benched guys were exhausted by the end of the game
baker, pietala and other benched for periods of time
Not sure how to fix the penalties issue
Talked about Tommy Brown's 1st game, played fine

I'm proud of you for not rolling over and taking it up the *** until the end of tonights game, but ****, enough with the penalties. And please, don't pout because you're being punished for dumb penalties, just play a full 60 minutes.


Dear Stupid Moron Behind Me:

I don't care that you've reffed for a long time. I don't care what you think. Slewfooting is a legitimate penalty and a dangerous one. The reason you've never heard of it is because mites don't try to injure each other. You're not Todd Anderson. You're not Brad Shepherd. Yes, they do some sketchy stuff sometimes, but they didn't get where they were for being losers. You are a loser. This goes for all the Misfits as well. Sure, ***** about bad calls or no calls, but don't try to make **** up. Also, you're not the coach, so don't try to coach the team from the stands. The goalie stays in the net when a penalty is called on the other team if the play is concentrated around his net so the puck isn't accidentally knocked in by his own guys. And stop acting like a total tool. Thank you.


Dear Kevin Genoe:

Please learn to hold on to the puck. You got lucky a lot of times, and got bit in the *** at the end. I guarantee you you lost at least one start next weekend because of that.
