Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

I just bought my plane ticket to Houghton for the Gopher series. I can't get away from work until about 1:00 on Friday, so I won't be able to make it up with the group driving. One-way ticket from MSP to CMX seemed like the best way to go. I'll be in town in time for double bubble.:D

The pep band rehearsal was awesome today. We had a mock hockey game to get ourselves ready. I am pumped to finally play for hockey!

Also, we have "Sandstorm" now :D

I'm sad that I missed it, however, SO FREAKING EXCITED THAT WE HAVE SANDSTORM.

Well, we could always talk about MTU football instead.
I can't participate in that conversation. Tech football sucks and doesn't deserve to be talked about, why do you think we never actually talk about hockey during the season?

But at least you're not as bad as what Ferris State is. ;) And now its going to be pretty hard for MTU to end up in the basement. ;) :D

Welcome welcome to the new posters!! Feel free to ask questions because we do, after all, know everything! ;) :)

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

So apparently the theme for the UMD trip is going to be "balls to the wall", as we have reserved and are planning on purchasing a 60 ticket block each night. Mitch's Misfits will accommodate every student that goes to the game with lodging, transporation and tickets for only $24.

However, if we have left over tickets, we would like any alumni or other fans to sit with our group. So, if anyone is interested in UMD tickets, email me at sryager@mtu.edu and I can put you on a list, in order of first come first serve IF we have leftover tickets (which is likely). The price of tickets for our alums and other fans will be $15 (rather than the $18 they cost at the arena).

woot for already changing my major.

The people who make it all the way to actually opening a practice are few and far between anyway. If you're willing to rack up debt, go through stressful internships/residencies, and wait until at least 30 to actually get your career started then all the power to you, but most people either don't have the brains or the patience/perseverance. You're just lucky you recognized it very early on. ;)

Agreed. My extreme despising of my biology & chemistry courses made me realize that regardless of how much I want to be a doctor, suffering through that many years of school being miserable is definitely not worth it. Plus, business is what I excel at.

And the ballpark figure of 30 is just if you want to be a GP. When you start thinking about specialties (surgery, internal med, cardiology, neurology, etc.) you're looking at another five years of training.

As you can see, I thought about all of this - when I was in high school. ;)
