Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

The average college student will change their major 6 times during the course of their career.

I've officially changed mine twice, and mentally changed it 5 times.

And the ballpark figure of 30 is just if you want to be a GP. When you start thinking about specialties (surgery, internal med, cardiology, neurology, etc.) you're looking at another five years of training.

As you can see, I thought about all of this - when I was in high school. ;)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Agreed. My extreme despising of my biology & chemistry

Really though, good move realizing you were barking up the wrong tree early. Unlike some people who make it three semesters in, panic, spend a semester floating, end up on ac pro, and then just switch to Civil and pray *whistles innocently*

Everything except winning. I'm afraid we aren't too experienced in that subject.
Ahem! Some of us are Gopher fans too, we know winning.:D

I changed once.
So apparently the theme for the UMD trip is going to be "balls to the wall", as we have reserved and are planning on purchasing a 60 ticket block each night. Mitch's Misfits will accommodate every student that goes to the game with lodging, transporation and tickets for only $24.

However, if we have left over tickets, we would like any alumni or other fans to sit with our group. So, if anyone is interested in UMD tickets, email me at sryager@mtu.edu and I can put you on a list, in order of first come first serve IF we have leftover tickets (which is likely). The price of tickets for our alums and other fans will be $15 (rather than the $18 they cost at the arena).
Shirtless and I are making the trip, so you may as well put us on the list.

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

Some of us U of M (Michigan) fans know of this winning thing, as well.

Email me some email addresses and phone numbers so I can have it on my sheet.
Not since '98....

Will do.

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

I was thinking more of the Misfits' traditional response to the NMU Puckheads' take on that, which is "GO! CATS GO!". You can take comfort in the fact that at least a vast majority of the St. Cloud crowd gets into your version and it's loud, whereas at Northern it always comes off as weak and half-a55ed to me.

Ahh.... Actually our whole crowd does the "Sieve!" part and only the student section and some scattered few do the "You Suck!"

Ahem! Some of us are Gopher fans too, we know winning.:D

People who call themselves a fan of a different WCHA team AND the Gophers should be burned alive as a warning to those considering turning over to the dark side.

Its not like you have to actually go watch a soccer game to be able to enjoy the befits of having 25 fairly attractive ladies around campus. ;)

Yeah... and if anywhere you'd think you'd grasp this concept, it would be Houghton. :)

I'm an alum, I'm not on campus or in Houghton. I couldn't care less if there are 25 more chicks there.

I have a feeling this is either gonna go down in flames or be one of the cooler things the Misfits have done recently. I'm still not sure which one I'd bet on....

Don't you have some sort of job to be doing right now?

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

Can a trip to Duluth really completely go down in flames? I mean, you can always go to Grandma's Saturday night and everything is OK, well, unless you're underage...crazypotatoes, are you still under 21?

I was more talking about the Misfits buying tickets and hotel rooms for 60 people and ending up with 15 people actually going.

And yes, I am 21, so I will definitely be at Grandma's during the Duluth weekend :D

Re: Michigan Tech 09-10 Season Thread: Let's go to Detroit. Twice.

All of our two-day season preview is now up on mininggazette.com, including features on Eli Vlaisavljevich's dreams of being a Rhodes scholar   , Malcolm Gwilliam's difficult journey leading to a second senior season, and the many and varied travels of Peter Rohn.

And if you'd like a laugh, go to the Sports Columns section, where the third-best small-town sports columnist in Michigan (I can back this up) takes another blind stab at the WCHA this year and tells you why you should probably place your bets on the Landcows right now.
