I don't even remember the last time we swept michigan...but that was a very hard fought victory. I actually thought michigan looked like a great team. They have a lot of speed and moved the puck up ice very well. Even in defeat, judging by what has previously been said, i gotta believe that was probably one of their better performances this year. We looked nervous at times and pucks were bouncing on us but we pulled it out. I actually thought we played very well in the third period. Michigan didn't pressure us like they did in the second and somewhat in the first and we had several absolutely golden scoring chances.

Now this has been a great sports weekend.

I always found it amusing that uofm fans accuse us of being an agricultural college as if it's something to be ashamed of. Seeing as how our nation's agricultural potential and our ability to take advantage of it is one of the leading reasons that our country has risen to the power it has and stayed there, i'd say it's pretty **** important. Isn't michigan widely known for their political science program? Everyone loves politicians.

Once again a sparty spinning false statements in an effort to support their argument. No, you're wrong. Michigan is predoimiantly a medical institution. You know helping HUMAN BEINGS defeat disease and other illness. We could care less about some cow....

Oh yea, our Law program is one of the best as well.

And to pacify ows, apparently Michigan Hockey sucks this year. Congratulations on sweeping us...

Hogan might be more of a headcase than Sauer. I swear, the kid looked like he was not just talking, but debating with himself for about ten minutes in the third.

predoimiantly??? Are they developing new languages there too? Don't tell me Wally World is selling pleather UM diplomas now.

And I don't blame you for bringing up academics again in a forum dedicated to discussing sports (particularly college hockey). We just handed your hockey team their asses, your football program is in the ICU, and they wheeled your basketball program to the morgue years ago.

But as for medical schools, maybe you missed my post earlier in which I pointed out:

MSU is the only university in the country with three on-campus medical schools, graduating allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians, as well as veterinarians. As the university extends the College of Human Medicine and the College of Osteopathic Medicine to new areas of the state, it is increasing enrollment, and by 2010, MSU will be among the largest universities in the United States in terms of the number of medical school graduates.

Among medical schools, MSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine ranks seventh in the nation in the primary care category, along with four universities, including Harvard. Since 2000, the college has ranked among the top 10 percent of all medical schools nationally and was recognized for its commitment to quality care by the State of Michigan.

We're no slouch in medicine either.

Well U-M, you carried the play against us tonight I must say. Good thing our goalie questions have been answered (also helps to have a little love from Mr. Pipe and Mr. Cross-Barr) - although we could have had a couple more toward the end, when Mr. Hogan finally found his game.

That it is. We played pretty well tonight, but State definitely schooled us this weekend. I'm hoping we can find an identity and be a little bit better prepared in January. Time will tell...

Nice wins to show any disbelievers that State hockey is in fact back on the map.

I'd just like to point out that Ohio State being near the top for undergrad enrollment is a direct counter-example to the claimed principle that more students=better school.

I'm really really glad I had other things going on this weekend to help distract me from college hockey.

Since I'd prefer to not talk about the result of the games (though I think they were good, hard fought games) I'd like to tell you all about my experience at Munn last night.

We sat next to a sparty fan with really bad B.O. My bf sat next to him but was trying to stay as far away as possible. A good 10 minutes after the game I was hugging the bf and noticed he smelled bad. The other side of him was fine, he took his jersey off and he was fine. The MSU fan smelled so bad he made my bf's jersey smell. blech.
