Michigan Hockey 2010 - Delivery or Take Out?

Re: Michigan Hockey 2010 - Delivery or Take Out?

I don't know if Michigan is going to play Minny this season, but I would hope we can keep up our rivalry with them.

Ditto. As much as I make fun of minnehaha I actually do respect their hockey program greatly. Here's an idea, how about both school alternate hosting weekends? You know one year minny hosts us for a weekend but the next year they come here? I can see balking at that idea due to lost revenue for a weekend that you can get any old po-dunk you to come to your rink but maintaining the rivalry is important and so is having good competition for our student athletes.

Re: Michigan Hockey 2010 - Delivery or Take Out?

On TheWolverine, I read that Michigan is scheduling nonconference games against UNO and New Hampshire this season. I don't know if Michigan is going to play Minny this season, but I would hope we can keep up our rivalry with them.
Has anyone pieced a schedule together with what is known? You host UNO 10/22-23, GLI will be 12/29-30, and I know a lot of others have released schedules already (Miami, NMU, etc)

Re: Michigan Hockey 2010 - Delivery or Take Out?

Yea, we got our tickets about a month ago. One of the nice things about being a season ticket holder... ;)

I just noticed you said you got your "Tickets"???

I have had season tix for 18 years and got my order form about the time you said you got your tix. I ordered mine and was told by the ticket office they would not mail them until October.

Bad wording- for my post got = ordered. Poor english, but I'm an engineer, and that was my excuse when I was a TA teaching Statics, and I'm sticking to it.

Don't know if the CHS will continue- heard Wisconsin wanted out. Will have BC at the GLI this season. No firm schedule release yet.

Re: Michigan Hockey 2010 - Delivery or Take Out?

Well, Wisconsin released their schedule today and they have the CHS on it. We're @ Wisconsin on 11/26 and @ Minnesota on the 27th. Also, we play @ BG on 10/8 and 10/9 (season opener?).

Well the nc schedule seems to be pretty robust this season if Michigan has UNH, Minn and Wisconsin on the road. The GLI has MTU/BC. UNO is the only home nc game so far that I know of.

Nothing to report, just a thread bump here.

There are 128 days until the start of the 2010-11 season.

Should be interesting, especially because as the team will have questions regarding its identity early in the year. Plus, isn't your rink kinda intimidating?

There was a time when it was considered hostile for visiting teams, but the crowds have really gotten quite lame over the last few years.

Re: Michigan Hockey 2010 - Delivery or Take Out?

And now that I have found at least one friend willing to make the trip out there with me, I am too!

Is it hockey season yet?

Awesome! I suggest you stay in nearby Portsmouth, NH. The Sheraton and Hilton are both downtown. Tons of great bars, restaurants and fine live music, and across the Piscataqua river is the State of Maine. Portsmouth is about a 20 minute drive from Durham.

Ferris State announced their schedule and we have two home and home's with them. The first is October 29/30 (away on Friday, home on Saturday) and then on January 14/15 (home on Friday, away on Saturday).

Sadly, I won't be able to make it to this season's opening game, but I will be there in spirit!
Meeting you in Anchorage last year was a lot of fun, and it will be a long time before another hockey season opens so memorably.

Have we heard announcement on when Michigan will publish its full schedule?

A couple of things:

1. Great article in the Daily about the growth of the student section at Yost.

2. The Blog That Yost Built posted a summer update. Interesting that Pat Summers won't be back next season and Adam Janecyk will be the third string goalie.

Cool, some of my quotes got in. But that other guy sure remembered the Cornell series better than I did.

Still have to give a lot of credit to Duke, since that's where C-Ya came from.

The one hard thing about that '91 opening game with State- that was the imfamous fog game- which got interrupted quite a few times to clear the fog. But the fans were great. I'm so happy that I was able to be here for the '90-91 season, where a lot got started, and the rest after where is just grew.

Good memories.
