Michigan at NMU, 10/21-22--Walmart better stock up...

Re: Michigan at NMU, 10/21-22--Walmart better stock up...

Yeah, they did. What else do you call the NMU players actions going into the dressing room or even kicking Hunwick to start the initial scrum. Sure Hunwick lost his cool, I am not denying that. However, it was not like he was not provoked. Don't act like NMU players acted like angels that is far from the case.

Responding to you isn't worth my time. You're ****ed off because your team lost, and instead of realizing how good of a game it really was, you try to rationalize NMU as playing dirty. That was not the case.

Grow up.

Re: Michigan at NMU, 10/21-22--Walmart better stock up...

No. You just made my original point stronger.

The NMU players didn't play like goons. Get on Twitter, Shawn Hunwick personally apologized and said he was wrong.

I like the Ad Hominem attacks trying to connect me to Fox News too, classy. Your spelling and grammar also represents your school well. (I'm assuming you don't/didn't actually go there, because your English is poor)

I didn't know internet boards were a formal arena of literacy? Wow, thanks for educating me on that. Would you like me to link towards my publications in biophysics and optical physics research? I can if that is your preference. I could also post my michigan biophysics degree as well.

Hilarious this little three of replies turned into an academic credentials slap fest.

yawn, you sound like a sparty fan. Maybe if your goons didn't gang rush hunwick the game wouldn't have gotten out of hand. How about knocking off Luke Glendenning's helmet off at the end of the 2nd. Nice selective view of the game yooper!

By the way even the Yooper radio feed was laughing at how one sided the refs were in the 2nd period. Thats what you get when you have rookie refs calling the game.

I cannot wait to leave the joke that is the CCHA for the B1G. As long we can take Piot as the head of the refs and Molina, Likens, and Shegos to the B1G I will be happy.
Your arrogant attitude makes me laugh. Northern got the benefit of some calls, as did U-M. The difference was Northern generated a PPG and U-M was 0 for 7. You must have watched the game through maize and blue colored glasses. Northern outworked U-M for streches of the game. I hope Northern can duplicate the effort and send Red and his boys to the Big 10 with a nice going away present. U-M will never be back to Marquette unless they are scheduled next year. So it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling listening to you whine.

Actually, no I am not. I am not delusional to think Michigan is going to go undefeated this season. Take off the NMU blinders and look to your team's actions as well. I never rationalized anything. It was a great with ****ty reffing by two rookie refs. Even the Northern radio crew acknowledged the fact that the calls were going one sided during the 2nd period. So I don't think I am out of line here with my logic.

Grow up? Show me where in that post I am being immature. Whatever, I am out.

I wish the radio broadcast from the NMU feed was podcasted, so I could post a clip where the NMU radio crew was literally laughing at how bad the officials (who are rookies) were controlling the game.

So you are saying we should sympathize with you because of the way the game was commentated?

I am just saying Michigan fans are not the only individuals that believe the refs lost control of the game in the second period. The supposed unbiased NMU feed was also complaining at how bad the game was called.

I don't remember ever asking for sympathy in this thread.

Re: Michigan at NMU, 10/21-22--Walmart better stock up...

Yes the game did get a bit wild, but considering the circumstances I feel as if the two referees and two linesman did the best they could to try and control it. I mean there was almost another fight (I can't remember if it was end of 2nd or start of 3rd) and they got it broken up quick. They also made some calls that attempted to clean it up. Yes they did miss some calls, but it was both ways for the most part. Overall I feel they did a good job trying to control it, it's a 4:12 ratio keep that in mind. (2:12 actually calling the penalties)

0:08-0:09, Hunwick basically kicks the NMU player behind the net.

That looks like embellishment by the goalie. The goalie was hit, but the MI guy pushed the NMU guy into him, and the goalie over-reacted to the hit. The goalie was out of line, and I'm a huge defender of all things goalie. The stick-throwing was completely immature. As for the kick, it's there, not as flagrant as the NMUers might attest to, but it was a cheap shot.

Final conclusion: the MI goalie is a punk-arse.

NMU would know all about goalie embellishment...

Twitch, I'm gonna hunt you down. Worst. Game. Ever. And that's as a neutral fan for those not in the know. The most horrid hockey series I have ever seen. Ever.

Re: Michigan at NMU, 10/21-22--Walmart better stock up...

Wow... Missed the game, so I'm not sure what led up to things in the 2nd.... That being said, not really sure how you can defend Hunwick in this situation... Yes, he got taken out hard, but it was because Chewy got taken down... It's not like there was any intent behind that... He was just going to the net hard and when he got taken out, physics took over and Hunwick was just in the way... No reason for him to act like he did... Yea, he got hit hard, but there was nothing that anyone could really do about it... Just man up and move on...

Tomorrow should be interesting... I can only imagine what UM will bring to the table to start the game... NMU is going to just have to survive the first 10 minutes if they are going to have a shot... Play with the confidence of tonight and keep the hard hats on... Go out and earn it

I'd hardly call his leg lock a cheap shot. Anyway, the worst thing Hunwick did was toss his sick. When I saw the box score...I was expecting more than this. Nothing to see here...

Re: Michigan at NMU, 10/21-22--Walmart better stock up...

Being at the game it was dirty from the beginning. There were cheap shots being thrown throughout the 1st and 2nd period. Just before the fight Epp was thrown in the box after checking to the ice 3 different Mich players and Mich almost started a fight then. Hunwick was an ***** before the fight knocking over one of the arena staff and making vulgar had gestures to the fans. The NMU player was pushed into Hunwick and the punch Hunwick threw was a sucker punch. Also whoever said something about the helmet being pulled off of a Michigan player is an idiot. The michgan play was holding the NMU players arm/stick and went down on the ice and when the NMU player pulled away his arm the helmet came off.

This game was excellent. A little out off hand in the 2nd but whistle were swallowed on a lot of stuff that could have been called and it was a good physical game.

Tomorrow - If Hunwick is out I don't think Michigan has a chance. Every player for NMU is contributing. Two Fridays in a row now the 5 different NMU players score on the 5 goals for the game. I think it'll be 4-3 NMU tomorrow.

For those Michigan fans that doubted your teams right to be number 1 you were right.
