Miami University 2014-2015: It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.

Re: Miami University 2014-2015: It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and ro

Sweep would have been nice, but a good road split for a team that didn't fare well with all the travel last year. Hopefully they have a year under their belts and can better prepare for life on the road in the NCHC.

I think UMD could become an interesting rival for us as we move along. The series in Oxford in February should be a doozy!

We are now only 4 wins away from matching last season's conference total.

Let's get the sweep tomorrow.

How did Miami look last night? Did they control the play?

Halfway to our win total from last season in conference. First regular season nchc sweep.

Let's go Redskins!

Scalp the Sioux!

Hard to believe, eh? That said, that was a series where we needed 6 points and we got it. Having four games against CC should be an advantage. But, they'll have to come out here to over 6,000 feet of elevation in February.

This weekend in Grand Forks should interesting. Both teams have something to prove with UND not really having played anyone yet and wanting to avenge the 3-0 loss to Miami in Minneapolis and us hoping to make a better showing there than last year which included the awful 9-0 blood bath.

Should be a fun weekend! Hoping for good hockey.

Saw the women play on Saturday in Boulder. They easily handled #3 UMass 5-0 -- I believe they faced them in the national title game a year ago. Biggest test was Friday when they beat #11 Minnesota 3-2. Denver isn't very good. I predicted they would win yesterday 12-0 and I was close. They won 15-0. They have a couple really good players who stand out. I was impressed with some of their speed and skill. Really cool to see them in person.

The women are now 11-0 and ranked #1 in the latest ACHA Women's poll.

Most exciting game of hockey I've watched in a long time. Non-stop, fast paced, high energy play. My pulse is still racing! Sad I missed the first period, but great to see the team grit it out. Not sure how we missed the ENG at the end there, but fortunately we held. Looking forward to another round tomorrow. Go Hawks!

Great job coming away with a Sioux scalp tonight, dominating. Finish them off tomorrow.

Can't complain about a split on the road at NoDak. Tough seeing that first goal waved off when even UND's guys thought it was a good goal, but probably wouldn't have changed much. Interesting to see McKay in net after a good showing by Williams, but I guess Blasi wants the rotation reestablished. Caggiula's first goal was unbelievable... major props to him for the sick moves. Looking forward to seeing these teams go at it again in Oxford come March!

On to WhyWestern. I'm hoping to make it down +4 to Oxford for the Saturday game. It's been a couple years since I've been able to catch a game in Goggin. Probably going to try for SRO tickets, but if anyone is looking to unload a few seats for that night, let me know!

Was wondering if someone could answer two questions, as I haven't gotten to see any games yet this year. What's going on with defensemen Colin Sullivan, injured or just not good enough to get into the lineup? As a Freshman he struggled at BC so I wasn't expecting much as I was surprised he opted for a top program like Miami instead of going somewhere where he might have an easier time getting ice. Also I see he's listed on the uscho page as a Junior but shouldn't he be considered a Sophomore? Thanks

Injured - from what it sounds like he was in a good position to log some minutes this year.

Hi All - I just wanted to post a note that I purchased a large group of the team's red game used jerseys from last season (both sets). I don't know if any of you are jersey collectors / traders but I would be willing to swap them for other D-I team game worn jerseys (especially Michigan Tech) or would sell them outright for $185 each including shipping anywhere in the US.

You can view photos of all the jerseys at the link below.

At that link you can also click on the photos to view larger versions that will pop-up in a new window.

Don't mind hanging around 5-6 in the rankings, too many times we have been ranked high only to drop in the end.

Hearing he could be back soon. With Dornbrock's emergence, however, will be interesting to see if he gets minutes. The loss of Hamilton certainly helps his cause.

Quite a night for the alums in the scoring department. Two goals each for Wingels and Smith and Martinez breaks in the new contract with a goal and an assist. Hopefully the current RedHawks can score at a similar pace tonight.

My my, aren't we quite the prophetic one ;)

Pretty lousy outcome on Saturday. Tilt the ice in our favor but the goaltending wasn't there. UNO was opportunistic and Massa looked a lot better than Friday. Still, first place at the holidays is welcome and it's nice that we'll have two weekends of non-conference play before getting back into things in January.

Happy holidays, everyone!
