Miami at Denver/ Saturday March 8

Re: Miami at Denver/ Saturday March 8

Under these circumstances, if DU can't win one period at home against the last place team in the league, they don't deserve home ice in the playoffs. C'mon boys. Shut the old man up.

Please shut him up or we'll have to get Nurse Ratchet to give him a "green" pill.

Re: Miami at Denver/ Saturday March 8

You have 3rd locked up now, right?

Quick aside and I'll butt out.

This 3rd place finish for us tied for the best conference finish in program history.

Remember that the next time you are watching that NCHC superlatives promo video at an arena near you.;)

Re: Miami at Denver/ Saturday March 8

Your words, "pathetic effort" by the Sioux on Senior night.
Did they think cc was going to beat St Cloud? Or WMU wouldn't show up?

No idea. This particular North Dakota team struggles to get offense going. We have a very good group defensively, and Gothberg is the real deal in net. However, there is no Matt Frattin, Brandon Bochenski, Ryan Duncan, or even a Danny Kristo on this team. Grimaldi is very good...so is Mark MacMillan, Michael Parks, Drake Caggiula...we get plenty of offense from our blueline...but we don't have that one player that can take over a game in the offensive zone. Couple that with playing a team like Western that is solid in their own end, and it's a recipe for a lack of offense. That being said, the team really never played with much emotion, the crowd was apathetic, and it showed on the ice. It was a pathetic effort, and I feel bad for the seniors (Rodwell, Mitch MacMillan, and Clarke Saunders) who played like they wanted to win (of course, Saunders only sat on the bench). This team really reminds me of the 2004-2005 North Dakota team. If they get the lead, they are really difficult to beat. If they don't, they don't have the firepower to make a comeback.

Puck goes in. Ref immediately signals no goal. They're reviewing it.

The "change of scenery" scenario plays itself out once again. Cubs fan remember the "change of scenery" scenario for Lou Brock. Went from a so so outfielder in Chicago to a HOF player in St. Louis. With the Cubs, that's always the way it works.

Well...let's not kid ourselves...Cichy isn't the next Lou Brock. He has only 25 points in two seasons at Western...but I get your point. Cichy needed the change to become a better person...along with a better hockey player.

All Lou Brock needed was a two step lead.

Coleman scores on a breakaway. 2-1. That guy has scored all their goals this weekend.

Re: Miami at Denver/ Saturday March 8

DU getting outplayed in this period. Only. 11 minutes left to do something.

Re: Miami at Denver/ Saturday March 8

My wife's family is from St. Louis...they would probably argue that he could steal second even if blindfolded and handcuffed to first. :p:D:D

He also had tremendous occasional power. Before he was traded, he had the only homer to land on the right side of the clubhouse in the Polo Grounds. Like a 450-500 foot shot. And a truly class act.

Hooking on Der Rosenkavalier. Miami to the PP. Wonder if Coleman will be on the ice.
