Merrimack Offseason: ya, so that was fun.........

Re: Merrimack Offseason: ya, so that was fun.........

If you can't play with the big boys, get out of the pool. Or something like that. :)

And yes as a matter of fact, Jack had everything to do with your schedule. That was item #8 on his lists of things to accomplish this summer. Had a meeting with him a few weeks back and no lie, he said to me "Sorry Scarlet (yes, he does call me that), I can't meet with you on that calendar you're producing as I need to figure out a way to make Merrimack's schedule a hot mess before I head off on vacation, can we meet when I get back? Honestly, those boys got a little too big for their britches last season and I need to fix that so it doesn't happen again and then tell Joey B to back me up on it." And I said, "Well, that might mean a delay in the production and delivery. But I think we can still get this ready for distribution by end of August, provided you're done ruining Merrimack by the time I need you to review the design and copy." He was open to that. I think we're going to have an AWESOME calendar this year. I can get you one if you want! :)

Wow, relax francis.

Haha... well done.
Now I want to see Nick or Carmen fill in items #1-7. :D

Re: Merrimack Offseason: ya, so that was fun.........

#7 was getting Cronin out of HE before he beat the old man senseless. I wonder where cleaning out a random players locker falls? #12?

Well, that's not an item for his list of things to do in the summer silly. There are no lockers to clean out in the summer.

Well done scarlet.

Where on this list did Jackie have "ruin Merrimack's NCAA Tournament Participant Ribbon raising ceremony?" I can't wait to see how he pulls that one off.

But I hear that he's such a nice guy that he will let Merrimack raise their "2011 Hockey East Tournament Runner Up" banner without incident, though! :D

That's not all, I heard Jackie & Gilroy are hosting a seminar for Mack players on the benefits of becoming AARP members :eek:

What a nice guy that Parker is.

Came across a link to this website that might interest you by incoming freshman Mike Wills featuring a gallery of all the art work he has completed so far. Seems to be quite a talented artist.

Eagle Tribune this morning (and USCHO) Dennehy signs extension through 2019 (previously signed thru 2016 this past season). Good for him, he certainly deserves it and even better for Mack and their fans

There is a rumor that your other two non-conference games will be with UNO. However, some rescheduling on either side would need to be done for that to happen.

Re: Merrimack Offseason: ya, so that was fun.........

Great to see Dennehy extend his deal, he has made a huge impact on this school and on this hockey program. I remember in his first year that he set up shop in the campus center behind a small wooden table during lunch time and was handing out schedules and tickets to games, talking to students about the team on a one by one basis.

At that time he was battling a student core that was somewhat hockey-lethargic; I have to say he has really made believers out of the students, and the alumni.

Making a loose connection here, a lot of the MC turnaround has had to do with improved recruiting: who does everyone see making the biggest impact in '11-'12 as a freshman? Last season's frosh class was very well balanced and everyone played a role in the 25-10-4 season. Who from the incoming freshman listed below will set the pace for the '11-'12 campaign?

F Josh Myers
F Kyle Singleton
F Justin Mansfield
F Connor Toomey
F Quinn Gould
F Clayton Jardine
D Mike Wills
D Dan Kolomatis
G Rasmus Tirronen

Myers put up sick numbers on his juniors team, it would certainly be nice to see that translate to the college game, maybe make up for some of the lost firepower of DaCosta and the seniors.

I don't think Tirronen is going to see any meaningful time with Canatta's return and the capable Marotta in backup.

Jardine was spotted with a formidable handlebar 'stache in a highlight real on Rink Rat recently.

Check out the last video on this page to get an idea what your new goalie Tirronen looks like. This was taken at our last week workout at Espoo, Finland.

33 of the 34 games posted.

http://www.merrimackathletics.com/sports/mice/2011-12/roster

Roster posted. The new recruits added. Only subtraction from last year is Morton (as well as the obvious-seniors and 24).

Only 16 home games and 17 road games posted...odds are one more home game would be the final piece of the puzzle.

Also, makes some sense that Morton is gone, it would have been tough to crack the lineup with the depth of this squad...

McMahon mentioned Huntsville is a possibility. Getting both Union and AH in here would be a coup in my book. Looks like it'd have to be a sunday or weekday game tho based on AH's current HEA slate.

No offense to the coaching staff and athletic department, but can MC really not schedule better teams? I mean, after a breakout season, one would think they could get at least one major conference opponent. It's nice that they have this "rivalry" going with Army, but come on! Is it that difficult to work in the WCHA or CCHA?

Just because you have a breakout season doesn't mean you turn your back on established scheduling agreements. Allot of these N/C deals are for multiple years.
