Re: Merrimack College 2010-2011: taking H.E. one chair-back seat at a time
In terms of the folks you mention above, Vesey had 244 overall, which is beyond comprehension today...Ricci had 83 in 3 seasons, Schmidt had 90 as our best scoring option in the mid 2000s.
Taking a look at the career totals, if I had to pick the next 100 point player, it would be Jesse Todd, who has 65 points as of now and he is close to a 30 point season for '10-11.
I noticed that too in Buckley's column...it was well written, but that one stat was a bit of a misnomer...Merrimack has had 47 players hit the century mark (D1 and D2). The Hockey East-only club just had Barton join back on 1/29 and he was the tenth member to do so, joining the likes of Fowler, Atkinson, Beck, Aquino, Laroche, Porter, Kesselring, Gravelle, and Stringer.i didnt know that... that will be a good game and interesting
interesting article in paper, very well done and deserved.
one small thing. Vesey had 95 points his senior year alone and to say no other mc player had 100 is misleading and not fair to that era.
also, Ricci had 90 and set out a season. Schmidtz had over 85 on D and these 2 had little if any supporting cast. If he stays 4, Collins might be next 100 guy. love to see a local kid snubbed by the big schools do well.
