Maverick Stampede (St Cloud, RIT, Clarkson, UNO)

Here we go
It looks set up for a WCHA sweep. As an RIT fan, hoping for a split this weekend (well, REALLY hoping for a sweep, but I think that is unlikely).

Thoughts on the games? Can RIT or Clarkson win a game?

Mercyhurst just tied Michigan. Anything's possible. The only certainty is that there will be some good hockey next weekend.

Sadly, I'll be in Arizona and unable to make it to Nebraska for the games. It was really tempting to try to fly to Arizona via Omaha but it didn't work out.

Huskies are ready to rock and roll. Mr. Blais will certainly have his Mavericks ready to pound some opponents. Hard to wait to watch some great college hockey.

Otherwise, that's not ED, and drugs won't help you.

Why only half hard? Is Bob still making you concerned?;)

So how do the RIT, Clarkson and UNO feel about their team this year? I know I think the Hsukies are good enough to win it all and expect them to go farther than the region final they made last year.

I actually feel pretty good about RIT's odds this year. I think our team is extremely fast and I have faith in our defense. The only real question mark is who takes the starting goaltender job. I have a great feeling about Watson though. He's big in the net. I think after the tournament this weekend we'll have a better feel for what our goaltending situation will be.

We're gonna win it all though. Sorry everyone else. :p

I expect the Huskies to sweep, but who knows. RIT/Clarkson can definitely compete with UNO. SCSU looked good in their exhibition game against UManitoba

I'm hoping Clarkson can at least tie a game; based on the past 2 years, our expectations are pretty low!

That is to bad. You guys had a good team when you beat SCSU a few years ago in the tourney.

I think St. Cloud/RIT should be a good game. Both teams have pretty potent offenses. It should come down to special teams and defense. I also think RIT's best bet to win a game this weekend is the UNO game.

They went downhill in a hurry but I'm not as down on Clarkson as most ECAC experts are.

Still, I firmly expect an SCSU sweep this weekend. Anything less is going to be a disappointment to be sure.
