they will naturally call it a five minute and ejection on Tralmaks.

Because they overlooked the five minute hit from behind on Dawes.

Makes sense for them... is this the ghost of old Bunyan reffing?

Re: Maine

11 penalties getting worse and worse night after night. the lack of control on the coaches behalf has never been more obvious

Re: Maine

Maine wins 3-2 to complete the sweep. Maine is tied for fourth in Hockey East but when all tiebreakers are applied the Black Bears are seventh. Consider that Northeastern is a single point behind with two games in hand, and Maine is essentially eighth.

Nationally, Maine will remain in 17th after tonight. All teams immediately ahead of them won. Turn that Quinnipiac game around and Maine is sitting 8th in the pairwise. Flip the Yale and St Lawrence games as well and Maine is battling Cornell and BC for the #1 seed in Albany. Those non-conference games are huge.

I don’t think any of us could realistically expect a sweet at Quinnipiac even though it happened a couple years ago. The other two games really hurt though. Alaska is up 2-0 on the number two pairwise team right now and if they hold on would think that would help Maine.

Too bad that the coaches and team didn't feel that way.

Who scheduled Maine to have 8 of their last 9 at home?

Hockey East.

Considering Maine lost that game because the backup goaltender surrendered 3 goals in 7 minutes and then lost 4-3...

If UAA hangs on to win that will move Maine ahead of Bemidji State into 16th.

ETA: Flip just the St Lawrence tie to a W and Maine moves to 14th.
Flip just the Yale L to a W and Maine moves to 10th.
Flip both of those and Maine is 6th.

Re: Maine

Don't want to look too far ahead, but I hope the bye week cools off Connecticut. They just laid the smackdown on a UNH team that had been playing some quality hockey. They aren't to be taken lightly, especially given the struggles Maine seems to have when facing them.

Then worry.
