Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

@hoky

I have nothing against Corkum. He can stay, but he gets bumped down to volunteer assistant. The new assistant coach will be none other than Paul Kariya (900 games). He'll be serving as lead recruiter, helping out new associate head coach Keith Carney (1000 games). Taking over head responsibilities will be Eric Weinrich (1200).

There. Settled. :D

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

Hoky, how much money did jerry york/jack parker make in the NHL? Whoever you talked to is a moron. Probably you just talking to yourself...

Was he making the decisions on who they went after? Remember micro manager Timmay

You are talking to Mrs Montgomery

Whitehead made the sections. Did you watch the game tonight? Whitehead said no to Samuels Thomas(twice) and also to Cannata

He was the problem with recruiting

Also said no to Arnold

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

Doesn't matter. You clean house in this situation.
Bob has a contract, so does Dan, someone still has to run the day to day stuff. I haven't heard Bob called head coach yet, I've heard interim
Oh yeah, they didn't clean house at DU, both Assts coming back

Their contact ends this summer. New guy comes in, takes some time and hires his assistants. They leave and collect a couple more paychecks.

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

If Bob is the choice, I'm behind him. He's extremely knowledgable, and has been the recipient of great coaching throughour his career. I don't have a handle on his communication skills or how effective a teacher he is though. My gut tells me that a lot of people that know a lot more about hockey than we do helped Abbott throughout this process.

Can't be true. These 2 or 3 fools speak for the thousands of Maine fans.
They also know who Abbot has spoken to

Fools

Good point JD. No Americans did 45 years ago and neither tried and failed.

Good luck to M going head to head recruiting against York or BU

Combined # of NHL games for coaches in FF: 0

It has no bearing on being a good college coach.

It sure as hell isn't a negative that a guy was the consummate journeyman and played for some of the top coaches in the world and learned how to play a role. That is a huge negative

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

Who said that was a negative?

Anyway, I think maine should have gone after gretzky. He was a great coach, I mean player in the NHL...

2 or 3 fools... Beaaaatch please.

Now, I won't say I have given a lot of money to this program. Nor can I say I attend a lot of games these days. But I can tell you given my life parameters I still believe. I can also tell you there is a time when I can count the number of games missed on one hand. That is a fact. Also, to add a sense of seasoning to the mix... a very dusty north Dakota jersey hangs in my closet with "Walsh" on its' back. I was more than happy to spend the trivial money.

However, and more importantly from a fundamental standpoint... I won't go to the games like I used to. I won't spend my money on donations in the name of Maine hockey like I used to.

I want a better product. One that can make me proud.

You think anyone that can hold season tickets for years... and spend big money for years as a donor won't read this board and contribute. It is amazing to me that this can happen despite everyone being called internet nutcases. The internet nutcases just might be the people that give the money for all I know. If not, they truly have the best interests of Maine hockey in heart. And they represent the Mainer, and the Mainer's disposition.

Now, having said all of this... While you may think I am extreme and don't think for the masses... you better take control of your own logic. I am a Maine fan. Always have been. I am feeling what Maine fans think. I am disappointed as they are. At the end of the day that gd excuse of management at the UMaine athletic office needs need to make US happy.

We are the ones that spend money. Right or wrong, we are the customers. We are not wrong... ever. If you want to say we are wrong, it is as much as misunderstanding fundamental business properties. And, in business, it is quit arrogant and foolish to ignore the voice of the customer.

We won't buy. We won't until it changes. We are not one or two or three idiots that speak for the masses.

Give us something to invest in.

-Customer
And if not, oh well. We are bottom of the barrel now. So nothing lost for your average Mainer.

If there is any sense of wisdom in these words, I hope it falls on the right ears.

But I guess that will never happen, and all this means is one disappointed man's feelings.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaa

You keep making my point. NhL stars usually don't become great coaches. It is the corkum types who had to be all about the team and survive
Played for and was taught by some of the best coaches in the world

Just look at his list of coaches and resources he can pull from now

You speak for no one but you

Place will be hopping next year. Get on board or go home, your choice.

Re: Maine Summer 2013 - Pizza Season

Lol...I keep making your point? You are on crack. I haven't said anything negative about corkum. My only point is not having played in the NHL has no bearing on what you can do as a college coach. And just because you have played in the NHL doesn't mean you'll be a good coach.

Bill belichick never played in NFL, etc.

You my friend are not a Mainer. Not that it makes you a fool. But you are not a Mainer and can't ever represent one.

There is a guy on this board that has been a very staunch supporter of Maine hockey for 30 years and he is saying he isn't sure to invest in his season tickets anymore.

You represent the cancer mindset that has lead the Maine program to this point. Shame on you.
