Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

Almost every school in HE is in on Coughlin.

According to this article from February, he wants to play in Hockey East at a beanpot school. It will interesting to see if he changes his mind.

I want to play in a Hockey East School - especially BU, BC, or Northeastern. It's a dream of mine to play in the Beanpot.

Re: Maine Recruit Updates: All Are Welcome.......

Liam is a good player, played for Catholic Memorial, at Vernon Vipers (BCHL) this year. Vernon has a big CM pipeline recently, including Mike Collins (Merrimack) and Garrett Noonan (BU). Almost every school in HE is in on Coughlin. His older brother Kevin was a UML recruit before bolting for major junior and was out of hockey totally after a few years. Hopefully that taught the family how absurd major junior is unless you're a bona fide superstar.

Please he had a decent career in the Q...I don't know why his pro career didn't work out but to say it was because he went to major junior isn't the reason. He would probably have been a four year player in the NCAA and probably played a year or two of pro hockey.

Exactly...why didn't he go NCAA route? Ridiculous to give up college hockey for no reason unless you're a sure fire NHL player. Someone gave him and/or his family bad advice. Plain and simple.

Is Coughlin looking to join College Hockey next year..? If so...then Maine and a lot of other teams will have him targeted...if there's a chance then Maine should go for it.

So you are saying the 70-80% players playing major junior (Canadian, American, European) who don't have an extended pro career made a terrible decision by playing in the CHL?

Lets face it there's not enough Division I teams to go around for everyone to play Division I hockey. CHL teams need role players too. He played three years of high level of hockey. It doesn't make it a bad decision because he didn't go on to a long career in pro hockey.

Is the above Elijah Harris a goaltending Prospect..? To go along with Morin & Cronin..? Has there been any NEWS on Romero, that being if he is injured at this point of the early season..?
