Re: Maine Hockey 2014-15 Volume 2: Red's Revenge
I fear Red inherited much worse of a train wreck than has ever been admitted or suspected. We will never know. As one would expect, he has never ever said a word about what he took over. He inherited the other guy's players, recruits, a depleted fan base, poor season ticket sales, and a declining financial picture for Maine Hockey. So yes, there's a tremendous weight on his shoulders. To be accurate, he's really had one recruiting class one could call his, this past season's. All the Freshmen from this season were Red recruits except Peccararo. Give the guy two recruiting classes before you call the kids bottom feeder picks. In comparison, I don't think Bazin, Leaman or especially Montgomery inherited anything of a mess like Gendron has. Look, I'm unhappy and dissatisfied with the performance of the 2014-15 team. I give them a C+ at best. But give the guy two recruiting classes, maybe three.I have to agree. Red's recruits look bottom-feeder fare.
Recruiting woes were my main complaint under Tim, and it appears to be getting worse under Red.
