Developing the whole team creates depth which is advantageous in the case of injuries. What happened to trust in Red? So far there has been little reason to second guess, unless someone wants to create some.

Do you really think Red wanted these games? I'm sure the AD shoved them down his throat and Red being the team player he is took responsibility for them. Can't we both agree five days to prepare for UNH would have been much preferable to two? As far as culture, nothing is better for it than winning.

If you think Maine wasn't preparing for UNH on Monday and Tuesday during the practice (Mon.) and exhib (Tue.) then you are very naive.

Now, don't you think this guy should have a roommate where he has something in common?

Looks like he played on the same U16 team and I'm guessing Gendron was recruiting when he was assistant at Yale. Reads like he hasn't signed on to a school yet.

Should be interesting.

If he can handle the puck and score like Nathan Gerbe, Maine should recruit him.;)

But that shouldn't matter, unless money is the over-riding factor. Which it probably is. Need that home game income.

It's not like they're going that stretch without playing any games. And right in the heart of their conference schedule, to boot.

Yes.

No matter what you think about exhibition games, this one came at a bad time, and against a notoriously chippy team.

There's just no point in scheduling UNB mid-season, if at all, and I'm sure that Red won't allow the former to happen again if he has any say in the matter.

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

is the audio stream working for anyone?

I pulled out the ole radio and listened on WLOB 1310. Anyway. I think Marty has hit the wall. He hasn't had this type of load ever. I'm almost thinking that playing Sully as a split situation for the next few games might not be a bad idea. Then ride Marty thru the HE playoffs. The boys are snakebit (in the head) on the road. It will only take one to snap them out of it, but looking at the schedule I just don't see it. Have they ever gone a whole season without a road win????????

Re: Maine Hockey 2013-2014 - Red Light District

Saw the entire game, and Maine played well enough to win it, as did UNH...

It turned-out to be all about which team buried its chances, and Maine played second-fiddle in that department.

Still, from what I saw tonight, I'm expecting a W at the 'Fond tomorrow.

.
I didn't see last nights game but I would expect nothing the 2nd night of a weekend with Marty in net. Hasn't been his best night generally. At least I'll get to see the game tonight. This team has no depth, with Swavely and now Higgins out, this isn't the same team as earlier in the year. Got to find away tonight
