Re: Maine Black Bears - Return to the Glory Years or On to Oblivion?

I wouldn't expect much, no offense, slow, no one who can break out the puck. The goaltending will probably be ok, but not great. Lots of freshman playing.

The goalie has two left skates and uses a flyswatter for a blocker. The defense hits like a HS girls' team. Sshabby, your first line can go drinking the night before and still not face a challenge.

You guys sound real optimistic

They've been hitting the Allen's too hard this summer. I'm not sure how good Maine will be but I'm glad they got rid of the dead weight and am hoping for the best with the freshmen.
BET that the "dead weight" on the ice last year that got the ax this year, was the same crew you were rooting hard for.

We all can't predict Maine is going to make the NCAAs every year like you do. Somehow our predictions are at least close to the truth unlike yours

Let's wait and see give Red a few more years to do some recruiting. If you think his first couple of years recruits were his first choices. You guys are simple in the head.

Well here's hoping these incoming freshmen prove some of you pessimists wrong

we hope they prove us wrong also, we just aren't holding our breath. If they get to 8th in HE and hold a playoff series in Alfond it will be a great year. In order for that to happens, the goaltending has to be much better( could happen if Rob lost weight ala Garth snow), the D has to improve, and the freshman have to score from the start of the season.

Wow. Change the name of the goalie and you just described UNH!
