Um...right.

The 1992-93 Black Bears were the greatest college hockey roster ever assembled. Mike Machnik of Merrimack famously wrote that there were players sitting next to him in the press box that would be starters for the Warriors. Of the 22 players who played 20+ games that season, all 22 played at least one game as a professional with eight making it to the NHL.
On Shawn's last team in 2000-01, 15 of 19 (79%) players who were in 20+ games played professional hockey. On the 2008-09 roster, 13 of 21 (62%) played professionally. In the 17 seasons Shawn coached Maine we sent 33 players to the NHL. In the eight years of data available for Tim (players on the 09-10 roster are still at Maine) we have nine NHL players.

Will you be raising a fantasy banner in Alfond for this accomplishment?

You must have really loved the fantasy win in overtime over BC in the HE final a few years ago that got Tim a fantasy contract extension!

They haven't even put the banner up for last year's (non-fantasy) trip to the NCAAs. You think they're going to raise a banner for something that didn't happen? :p

Brian Flynn with a hat-trick and four points tonight for Rochester. Ex-Maine players are much more fun to follow than current Maine players this year.

Yup... SECOND in scoring for rookies in the AHL only behind Justin Schultz.

do not understand why there is no games this weekend? Scheduling issues?
Maybe a momentum breaker to soften the blow of a downhill slide............
Is TW out of town on vacation ?

Schedule makers wanted to guarantee the Blackbears had an undefeated weekend at least once this season

That was his Westfield State humor coming in. He was meaning Maine won't be playing so of course they'll not lose...He wanted to go to BC his whole life and ended up at WSC.

Hockey East scheduled no conference games this weekend. Every Hockey East team will have at least one weekend when they don't play games. It just so happens Maine's was this weekend. There isn't some grand conspiracy behind it. If you really want to complain, I'm sure you can find plenty of valid reasons. No need to make s#it up.

Quite honestly I think you are looking for an opportunity to snipe at JD but your excuse to attack him here wasn't all that great.

It was an enjoyable weekend. Thankfully not ruined by another Black Bear loss. Or two.
