the stripes are not right for a maine replica. the middle stripe was wider than the top and bottom, both on the arms and waist.

I have vague memory of a junior team using a Mariner M, but I cannot find it...

johnson, if you send a picture to cutting edge sports in Woburn Mass, they might be able to help you.
they have made Maine jerseys for a long time and they make lots of other teams' jerseys (wizards, celtics, crappy UNH, and on and on)

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

I think this could be the answer. Below is a photo from their website of the "Junior Mariners". Local team keeping alive an old logo, lower cost replica jersey, that seems to make sense to me. Also, that Pederson's logo on the back of the jersey is a spot on match to an early 2000s Michigan Tech jersey.

I really appreciate all the help proving this out. I don't own the "Snow" jersey but I just wanted to have some support before I go back to the owner and tell them "I don't think you have a Garth Snow jersey..." I have a hard enough time staying on top of MTU jerseys and even the WCHA. No way I could be an expert on 58 other teams as well so it's great to get the help.

Happy Holidays,
Ryan J

Listen, we need something to talk about until Todd starts that "Who's in/Who's out by the numbers" post to show that we are eliminated from home ice by January 1.

February 1. If Maine loses every league game and the cards fall right for the other teams, BC would eliminate Maine from the race for #1 on January 25 and Providence would eliminate them from home ice on February 1.

So you're saying there's a chance!

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Well, BU just beat the #1 ranked team in the country tonight, UNH, in Durham

Given the fact that Maine plays BU on Saturday, I have to say that the odds of Maine getting at least a point in that game just became a little better, because if BU lost the game to UNH they would have had even more incentive to come in and beat Maine to makeup for the loss.

Of course, beating the #1 ranked team in the country probably does build BU's confidence a bit.

And, how much more incentive would BU need to come out and play strong against a weak Maine team, given the fact that last years' Maine team swept BU down in Boston anyway?

And at this point, even if something miraculous happens and Maine wins (delusional thinking on my part), the fact that Maine failed to win any game at home makes you wonder why they couldn't win even 1 game at home thus far while beating a team like BU in their own barn. --It's not going to happen anyways, but it's just hard not to be pessimistic at this point.

BU beat two different #1 teams in the matter of 7 days. They're a good team.

As strange as it may sound, Maine will likely beat BU down there. Doesnt mean a friggin though, Maine still secks donkey ballz. :D But Timmay will try to make it out as the turnaround of a lousy Maine team. lol Its just the nature of college hockey

When will they fix the power play........goal against coming down, but power play is horrid. Pryor does nothing as the QB, What next, bill Norman.....Cornell and Nemec get pucks to the net, but TimGhandi will not let these guys have a chance....makes no sense.....hell put them or Rutt down low, they won't get knocked away.....I know that is not the best solution, but desperate times.....

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Maine is now 58th of 59 in offense... ahead of Alabama-Huntsville.

Maine is now 57th in powerplay percentage... ahead of UConn and Sacred Heart.

Maine Hockey... Can UConn join the conference right now??

I do not know where you are going with this.
what about all those frozen fours? Those statistics are misleading... anyone can take numbers and make them say what they want... Grant and Guy did a terrible job recruiting and Sill and Czuba really hurt the team... also Penner left early.

:D

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Pryor just being in the lineup is a disadvantage to begin with/awful d-man and really awful on the PP...thankfully he's gone this season...NOW if someone else would GO.

Where did Nick go?

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

Out of Larry's article in the BDN today:
"Maine will be without senior left wing Adam Shemansky, who will be sidelined four to six weeks with mononucleosis according to Maine coach Tim Whitehead. Freshman right wing Ryan Lomberg will serve the final game of his three-game suspension for violating team rules but sophomore left wing Connor Leen (ankle) could be back after missing one game."

Re: Maine 2012 - Take 2. If This Ain't the Bottom...

“We’re excited to go on the road,” said senior defenseman Nick Pryor. “We won our last road game (4-3 at UMass Lowell on Nov. 10). That gave us some confidence. We won’t feel as much pressure. We can just go out and play.”
Sounds like Pryor will still be around. What were you talking about saying he's gone for the season??

Don't forget its hard to recruit to Orono, almost impossible

I havent been to Orono in a few years but just the hockey atmosphere alone must be good for recruiting. The few times I visited Alphond the place was rocking. It was awesome.
