Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Diamond joined the 100-point club last night............

Great game by Joey, particularly when he separated the puck from the NU player against the dasher and passed it to Anthoine for the empty net score. No penalties last night and not very many in the last several games he has played in. He has slowly learned self-control and (I think), realizes he needs to be on the ice and not the penalty box to help the team win.

I have no intention of crashing your thread, but I have been smelling San Diego's sarcasm for a while, and I'm in NH. ;-)

It was a little shocking at first...but we are all used to the smell at this point.

Northeastern has been reduced to dressing only 10 forwards and 8 defensemen tonight.

edit: sorry, had that backwards. 10 defensemen and 8 forwards. Coach Madigan is less than impressed with how his forwards are performing of late. Can't use the language he did or I'd have to suspend myself. Expect an incredibly boring game as all these defensemen clog the ice.

I haven't been to senior night in a few years.... do they still make Leo Wlasow jokes?

...or Maine will remember how to play aggressively and bury the Huskies...

3-3 now
Oops 4-3 Maine, Rawlings is a sieve

What an awful play by a Maine D, 4-4

Tonight they didn't. Nice job by all the seniors. Tyler Walsh spoke along with the players. Nick Pryor became very emotional. Very difficult for him not to be able to play.

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

at the time I posted it was 2-1 and Officer Benny hadn't gifted the Huskies a 5x3 yet.
Yeah
Another blown chance for this years team. The D was less than stellar, far less. If Roy would have played for NU, I doubt Maine would have gotten a point out of the weekend

I was expecting more of an ovation when Tyler and his mother were introduced before the game. Do people not realize whose son and wife that was?

Thats what happens when a Program is allowed to fall to the bottom...people care but the luster is GONE...you of all people should see it...I mean do you think this happen over night..???? Till there's a change this will be the ho-hum attitude/atmosphere that this brand of Maine Hockey is all about...and off track some...where would this team be in regards of wins if not for Ouellette..??? I mean they have ONLY 10 wins/2 @ Alfond and 7 ties....without #51 they could have flirted with say just 6 wins...imo. This is not a Playoff Team...D is weak, lack of consistant offense, hell the offense is non-exsistant for 75% of the game...oh well...UNH next week/8th place the goal..???? Maybe..??? My only question will be what the thinking is after this Season does come to a end, either out of the Playoffs or a 3 game Series hard fought loss to the top #1 or #2 seed in Hockey East. Wake Up time for this Program.....

maybe it is because the people who WOULD HAVE known who they are and who WOULD HAVE cheered, are at home, many miles away, refusing to put their butts in seats and refusing to allow the AD to think for a second that what timmy is doing and what the AD is allowing him to do is acceptable.

Have you been to any away games this season?
Merrimack puts as many butts in seats at Northeastern as Maine did this season, and Matthews used to be more than half Maine fans for decades.

true maine fans are sending a message.

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Well, at least it's over.

If UMass can get a point from UNH, they can get one from MC. The season was a failure - can't remember a Maine team less ready for the start of a season - but its a finished failure.

Silver lining: the money I didn't spend at goblackbears was more than enough to cover NHL Center Ice. Which is pretty sweet on DTV.

Re: Maine 2012-13 Part 3D: Still digging

Any bets on Maine getting the 8th spot? I say the only way is if they back in, UMass loses to MC twice. I can see Maine winning at UNH but its highly unlikely

Tracy was surprised I knew who she was when I talked to her, its been a long time

When Ouelette was letting em all in last night, I was thinking that his Friday wins and his Saturday sieveness should have sent a message to Timmy that platooning with Morris might not be a bad idea, that another loss, but some playing time for a freshman is better than the loss and embarrassing the guy who did well the night before.
Then I started remembering the old days when Maine was in such great shape, that Friday night games would be close, and then Maine would generally skate circles around the opposition on Saturday... so I wonder if if is more the team than a tired Marty.
and JUST THEN, Larry said that Ouelette had a 1.1 (or so) gaa on fridays and a 4.2(or so) gaa on Saturday, but that stat was also due to the fact that the team plays like sheeat in front of him on Saturdays.

and I got a pretty sweet M5 with the money I saved on 2 seasons.
