LSSU Lakers 2020-21

They have a good road record, so wearing the road blues isn't a bad thing. I do think the yellows are much better than the home whites.

Thanks for a great season Lakers. Highest league finish, best record and first time in NCAA tournament in 25 years and the first conference (first WCHA one in presumably it's last season) championship in 26 years as well as reaching 1,000 wins in program history.

Tonight was an end to a wonderful ride of a season that will be remembered for a very long time to this Laker alumni. I posted on this forum religiously as an avid Laker fan during my four years at Lake State. A decade had passed now since I graduated, and as life has progressed I have less time to spend following college hockey. But these past couple months have given me an awful lot of joy, and seeing the Lakers make it to the NCAAs is a sight that I dreamed of back in my days in the Soo, but deep down I wasn’t sure it was something I would ever get to see. So with that, I say a heartfelt thank you to Coach Whitten, his staff, and his players. I am very hopeful there is more seasons like this to look forward to, but regardless, this one was unforgettable.

Disappointing end to the season, but congratulations to the Lakers for a great year regardless. There were major steps forward for the program, finishing 2nd in the WCHA, winning the WCHA post-season tournament, and making it to the NCAA Tournament.

UMass was the better team tonight.

Hoping Calder be next back next season. I have some doubts as his strong season I'm sure has gotten lots of attention of NHL organizations. If he does return barring injury, he should reach the 100 career point plateau.

I think Pete Veillette will be getting his degree this year. His return is questionable. He has a year of eligibility left so I hope he comes back, but who knows.

I mean look at UMass, and yes Bill was right they were excellent two years ago, but was that enough to make it seem like they are some amazing program with their coach getting a ton of airtime on the selection show? UMass was always a pretty mediocre hockey school from what I saw. But then they have Hobey Winner Cale Makar during one great season two years ago, and now UMass is suddenly elevated to another status?

We'll see what happens with UMass in the tourney without Makar. It will be nice to know where the Lakers stand nationally on Friday.

UMASS did ok I guess.
