I have been told that they are looking at confirming opponents for October 1 and October 7-8. A press release will be sent out once the dates are secured. So it's looking like there should be a exhibition game against a Canadian school on October 1 and most likely a home non-conference series October 7-8. No guarantee these games will happen but it should.

I am looking forward to making the Huntsville trip one of these years. Not when it's too hot though.

Good luck to your Chargers this season Geof other than you know they play us. The last few years the Chargers haven't really needed any luck against my Lakers.

I too would like to see the Lakers play at UAH one of these days. Not this coming season though.

I would like to go see the Lakers play at Bemidji and Mankato this coming season. I didn't make any new rinks last season so I would like to make two new rinks coming up. I planned on going to Vermont last December but lack of money made me not go.

Have you heard if the Oct 7-8 series is home or away?

Does anyone know whatever happened to the back to the attack money that was donated? Will there eventually be rink renovations with that money, or did the whole deal fall through?

I'm not sure but I remember Damon talking about funds for an "arena enhancement" on a Laker Hockey Show a few months ago. I think he said more will be known in the fall.

If it's a home series, then I think it's Robert Morris. Away series, then I think it will be Notre Dame.

I'm not sure whether or not the source was back to the attack money, but hockey funding started increasing the last season or two while Jim Roque was coach. That enabled the coaches to start recruiting in the BCHL again.

A couple of incoming recruits enjoyed championship seasons in their last year of Junior hockey. Tri-City (Max Humitz) won the Clark Cup for the USHL Championship. West Kelowna (Bryan Basilico) won the RBC Cup for the overall Canadian Junior A Championship.

It looks like we are going to have a series of 4 Laker Hockey Talk shows this Summer with Bill C and Damon Whitten. The dates are going to be June 14, July 13, Aug 17 and Sep 13, and the time will be 8:30 AM on Sovereign (ESPN 1400 I think). They will also be podcast.

Prayers for former Laker Coach Scott Borek and his family after losing their 24 year old son Gordie to a car accident in New Hampshire on Saturday.

Correction to the dates for the Laker Hockey Talk Show: June 15, July 13, Aug 17, Sep 14

First show is scheduled to be 2 weeks from this morning.
