Lakers recruit Nico Blachman made the All-98 First Team at the Over The Boards Teal Invite tournament in Boston last weekend.
Yep, thanks eye4talent. I saw that a couple of days ago but forgot to post a link here.
Where are you getting that info from? When I go to the Lakers Hockey website, last season's roster is still showing up. I wouldn't think the 2015-16 roster would be there until after school starts in the Fall. The lakers roster list 14 freshmen and 38 players over all committed to the university. How many of them come in next season it does not say.

OK, I looked at that. I think that is just their guess on what they think the roster potentially could look like. I think there at least 3 and maybe 4 freshmen on their list that won't be on the official Lakers hockey roster whenever it is released by the school.Go to Collegehockeynews.com .Click on standings when you find that on the page you go to. Click on Lake Superior in the standings and it will take you to Laker page and than click on roster. It does now show what year the new players are coming in .

hmm, can't speak for LSSU, but I'm not banking on their projected BGSU roster.
the team depth charts at http://www.collegecommitments.com/ and the incoming list at http://www.eliteprospects.com/ seem reasonably up-to-date, but won't end up being completely right either.
Yep. They're all a little off when it comes to the Lakers, but it's still nice to have them.hmm, can't speak for LSSU, but I'm not banking on their projected BGSU roster.

I am sure Whittens first season with 28 losses is a hard pill to swallow. if anything should push him hard to get the Lakers back to the top, 28 losses should be a great motivator.
...
AH - (4) USHL - (6) BCHL = 10
LSSU - (0) USHL - (8) BCHL = 8
Based on this quick comparison the teams with the most USHL / BCHL players seemed to have the most success. Obviously they need to be higher end players from these leagues. I am sure the upper end NAHL players could probably compete with most of the mid range USHL/BCHL players. I suspect that until LSSU fills the stalls with more USHL / BCHL players success is going to be hard to come by. On a bright note; looking at the 2015/2016 roster posted on CHN (mentioned previously) it looks like the Lakers could have (5) USHL players and (11) BCHL players next year for a combined 16. Does that bring them to the middle of the pack competitively? It will be interesting to see.
Obviously this is just a quick comparison of numbers of players from these leagues and does not take in to account anything about each players abilities. Is one of the NAHL or other Canadien Junior players that played for LSSU better than a USHL/BCHL player on one of the other teams, could very well be but in general terms I think you will have a better chance with a higher USHL/BCHL make up and probably increase your odds more the farther you go towards the USHL end. (just my opinion of course)
As both you and rustedblades point out, it's not just the league but how good you are in that league. Both WMU and BG, prior to their coaching changes to Blashill and Bergeron, had quite a few USHL players on their teams but it didn't provide them with much success in the W-L column. You need 1st and 2nd line USHL players and not just 3rd and 4th line players.I think that it would be worth noting who played and how well they did as well as what league that they did. This is more than mere accounting, and it's a lot of work (I know, I've started it for UAH and haven't finished it). One of UAH's four USHL kids, Jordan Uhelski, was our third goalie, who did make a number of trips this season (that's how bad our depth was; they took him over another skater) but redshirted. Is he going to be a factor for us? That's always a possibility, but I hope that it's two years from now after Guerriero has graduated.
It would be an interesting analysis to do. Shoot, Josh Kestner may blow the curve for the GOJHL.

I don't know much about Laker hockey; I've been following this thread a bit since Coach Whitten took the head coaching job. I am a little surprised at how much heat he's taken by some of the posters here.
