Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

This has become a sad situation or a lot of negative posts.

It's not my desire to be consistently negative, however, you all need to face facts. In order to turn the program around up at Lake State, there needs to be a lot more changes than just the head coach. Once you realize this, you'll understand my relentless need to harp on this issue. First of all, the AD must go. That's pretty much a no-brainer, although, I guess the administration wants to figure that out the hard way by giving her more time in the position. That's fine - they'll eventually come to realize that she is a huge part of the problem. Secondly, there needs to be more money infused into the program. Can't compete with the other schools head-to-head when we don't have the money to do so - and this means coach's salary, recruiting budget, travel budget, etc. Also, currently there are two assistant coaches - one full time and one part-time. This part-time coach position needs to be made full time! Can't believe it's not already!

Once these changes have been made, I think Lake State stands to compete. It would be a huge step in the right direction.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

Actually, I kind of liked it. It's the truth, and until we treat this program like a D-1 program and quit funding it at the bottom of the barrel, to expect much more than bottom of the barrel is ludicrous. It was time for him to go, past time. But Davy was correct, he COULD go somewhere else as assistant & get a raise in the process.

So true. I agree with RapidsCity and Midge. The program must be treated like a D1 program in order to function as one! I don't believe the AD has ever treated the hockey program as if it was Division 1. This is unfortunate.

He is doing very well. One of the head pro scouts for an NHL team. Frank has always had an eye for talent and a good thing :) Francis is one of the hottest coaches in Junior Hockey and soon should get a shot at a higher level.

Good things are happening for the Anzalone family!!!

Francis isn't a head coach yet. He is an Associate Coach at Aberdeen of the NAHL. When he gets a "shot at a higher level", that likely will mean a head coaching position at the Junior A level. Either that, or if Travis Winter (the Aberdeen head coach) were to get a head coaching job at the college level, he could take Francis with him as an assistant or associate coach.

You really should check your facts. He's not nor near head of anything. The Flames have a scouting staff of 14. The have a Director of Scouting, Tod Button, 4 pro scouts and 9 amateur scouts. Frank is simply an Amateur Scout whose focus is on the NCAA.
One thing I will say about Frank on the scouting trail is that he seems much more relaxed, much more at ease.
It's nice to see Francis doing well. He's a real good kid.

Can he recruit?

Mr Roque is giving Midge plenty of Kool Aid.

That's pretty funny!! I do like the Kool Aid!!

It would seem that our esteemed AD has been working on starting a JV basketball program at Lake State starting next year. Now, can you see where her priorities are?! Absolutely ridiculous! Who needs a JV basketball program - especially at Lake State? That's laughable.

She is really thinking outside the box!

Midge,I don't think people would tolerate ending the program and Dunbar would probably be deep 6 on their list

Don't feed the wolves sm2pk. Some of us can actually think rationally, others just keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

They said attendance was down 40% at the tournament games this year. I wonder if the new leagues wasn't such a bright idea now . The big ten was a bore with six teams playing each other over and over again in the second half. The NCHC wasn't the super league they thought they had built.

I don't get wrapped up in trivial details. Frank is very relaxed and extremely happy in his new position and the organization is lucky to have him. Francis is on a path to greatness and is one talented kid! Thank you!!

TBA

So if you don't get wrapped up in "trivial details" like the "Truth," why do you include trivial details in your posts? And before you dust off Francis's plaque in Eveleth, at least let him advance beyond NAHL Associate. It's like claiming a kid in A Ball is headed for the All Star game. And by the way, Roque is gone. Shouldn't you be spending your time watching your kid in the beer league playoffs?

Re: LSSU Lakers 2014 off season thread

Whatever!!! Sorry for your loss, and after all your apologies over the years, must be hard.

TBA

All my "apologies?" There you go not getting caught up in trivial details again. If you read my posts, you'll find me saying it was time, even past time for Roque to go. Now it's your time. The Truth IS out there. You just don't bother with it when it doesn't fit your infantile rants and you hate it when the Truth works against you.

Coghlin from division 3 should be looked at . He has built a machine at St. Norbert over the years.

If he can get an experienced Division I assistant, he would be an excellent choice.
