It'll be interesting to see if they've gone to the other extreme with someone who never shows much emotion... I haven't personally spent time with Whitten, but I've never seen him get excited.
From what I heard, Jim Roque also knew his nuts and bolts and game strategy pretty well, but he had trouble communicating that to his players. He was also too much like a box of chocolates, as in you never know what you're going to get. The players, and I suspect assistant coaches too, never knew what to expect from him in terms of his reaction to either losses or wins. He was too much of a loose cannon.
