I hope they practice PK in their skate today. With MSU already out, the league needs ND at the Joe. For a team that was a point away from winning the league title, ND has certainly had their ups and downs this season. Let's hope it continues. Go Lakers!

Thank you for the person who posted the link to the Notre Dame broadcast. Really good quality and broadcast.

I think there is another broadcast cutting through the feed, however, not quite sure who they are but they are whining and complaining a lot. I know it couldn't be our guys, they wouldn't dare make excuses.

The good news is Jim Roque will be back for another season and that is something all the fans on here will celebrate. Great season I gave them 11 wins on the season so they far surpassed my expectations.

You sure can tell who practiced today and who didn't and i had a bad feeling when i heard all the mixing of lines. If it aint broke don't fix it. They need to try and get to within one bye the end of the second or this may be it for the year.

Well, it looks like it only took the Irish twenty minutes to ice this game. Barring a major meltdown by Notre Dame, the Lakers road ends tonight.

I think that third goal was the back breaker. After the Lakers gave up the 2nd goal they started matching ND's intensity and were playing a solid game. The third goal was just a bad goal given up by Kapalka and really has the potential to take the wind out of the team's sails. We'll see how they come out in the 2nd period.

While I don't agree that Roque should be back, as much as I hate to say it I think he will. There are a lot of people who work for the school that are really high on Roque, mostly for off the ice reasons. Now these aren't people who are decision makers for that, but if they share the same opinion as others who do have a say in that than I think he'll be back. And mediocrity will likely continue.

The CCHA announced Thursday that Lake Superior State head coach Jim Roque has been issued a fine and been publicly reprimanded for a violation of the league’s Good Conduct Policy.

“The CCHA has a number of post-game protocols for a coach to properly express their concerns over issues that may have occurred during the course of a game,” CCHA commissioner Tom Anastos said in a statement. “There is no excuse or acceptable explanation for public comments that challenge the integrity of the league’s on-ice officials or administrative processes.”

The action was taken by the league after a review of public comments attributed to the coach, reportedly in the Soo Evening News when Roque spoke out on the officials after a Jan. 15 game against Michigan State.

According to the article, Roque said linesman Mike Poliski threatened him when they were on the ice.

“I had to call the police and file a complaint against him,” Roque told the newspaper. “All I wanted to do is ask how they were giving me seven minutes of penalties in the last ten minutes … they (officials) wouldn’t talk to me. They wouldn’t even come over for the shootout. I think that’s uncalled for. I got fined $1,000 five years ago for saying something bad about the refs in the paper. The guy can threaten my life and nothing happens to him? I just think that’s wrong.”

I can see why they are so happy on and off the ice. Enjoy another year of this administration. You people got your wish and with you people on here not questioning a thing, his cheerleader and caddy on the mic controlling the information,the 2500-3500 empty seats per game, and the excuses that will be made this year, the year before, the year before, the year before, the year before, next year, the year after the year after and when your crowds are under 1000 and your program is D3 when the Big 10 conference calls you will know.....

Roque gave it his all for 6 years and now it is time to look for a new coaching staff .

PerkyforPrez you are in Information Minister/Bill/Neil Diamond territory for that one. I didn't know they had 3 assistant coaches.

When i heard Bill C. mention on the pregame show of the mixing of the lines and that the Lakers had a optional skate while Jackson had a full on game day practice with all players and coaches on the ice it indeed gave me that sinking feeling. Why change so drasticly so much after a nice win, i just do not get it. All day i was thinking man they got a chance to go to the Joe, they just need to come out like the first two games.

I think we need a new head coach but my gut feeling is 80% that there will be no change. I can only hope the new contract he gets is not very long.

We know that you guys are a better team than you were earlier this season and that no matter if we had to face Alaska or you guys in this second round that we were going to have a battle on our hands that couple be taken to a three game series easily. I was extremely impressed with your net-minder. Regardless if you win this series or not I think you guys do have a promising future. Good luck tonight, although of course I hope we have better luck.

Not happening Mr. Perky. Roque is too well conected for the University to dismiss him. There are a lot of people with influence at LSSU, both employees and non-employees, that like Roque. He might be a subpar hockey coach but he is an astute politician.
