Re: LSSU Laker Hockey

My same feeling exactly! They haven't played contact hockey for some time now................

Most CCHA teams don't play contact hockey anymore. The rules are just too vague and tight to even think about throwing checks consistently at the risk of getting penalty after penalty.

That is one reason Miami's game is so impressive and effective. Along with speed and great puck movement, they play a physical game. They figured it out, most teams have not.

And it helps that Miami has the second best penalty kill in the CCHA

I agree. Miami was a pleasure to watch last weekend. Every line played with energy and effort. The Miami coaches clearly have the expectation that the players will be physical. During a timeout, their coaching staff, including Blasi, was working hard, instructing the players. On friday especially, the Miami team, especially number 22, had the Lakers completely intimidated. I think it was a good demonstration for the Laker players and staff the level of effort needed to win in the CCHA.

I don't think the coaching staff learned a thing from the Miami series or would change a thing if they did. Sorry, after 6 years of Roque, I think we have seen everything he is capable of and there is nothing more.

I agree 100%. Some people may be great assistant coaches and just can't make it as a head coach. I just believe the present coaching staff cannot and will not take them to the next level.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey

You better not cross him or you will end up like many of the people already mentioned on here.

The Truth Is Out There.......

Truth..lol..nothing personal ,but i don't care what you think or say or what Roque thinks or says.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey

Anyone have a link to the station the Lakers are on.

I'm assuming you mean the TV broadcast. CBS Sports is carrying it. For DirecTV, it's on CH 613. It's CH 152 for Dish. Not sure of the channel for Cable.

Indeed. Goaltending was the difference tonight. That 2nd Laker goal that Heeter gave up was VERY weak.

Disguisted with the attendance. 1,027? ***!

K2 made some big stops but he gave up some juicy rebounds that OSU could not capitalise on. The Lakers covered up well for him keeping most of their shots from the outside but he did make the all inportant first save.

1,027 was terrible but the Eagles started their playoffs last night at home as well. The Eagles go to blind river tonight so that and the Lakers taking game one i think there will be a nice crowd for game two. Also i see Northern did not have a much bigger crowd then us which really suprises me.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey

3 shots in a period (twice).................won't win many games if you don't shoot (didn't Don Cherry & every coach that has
ever lived said that). Could be last ame of a disappointing season, eh?

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey

Looked like you people had a smaller crowd up there than what announced. I am sure that looked very impressive on television.

Bill are you cooking the attendance books again? Good to see you had plenty of room up there at the game.

The Truth Is Out There....
Is that a picture of the Quad City arena?

But if you were at the game it looked more like 1,600-1,700. It had something to do with not counting season tickets, which they do in the regular season.

Check out Northern's attendance for last night. 1,200. I'll guarantee it was the same situation.

Granted, the Eagles played a playoff game, too. But the attendance should have been much better. I look for a better-attended game tonight.

That isn't even the Taffy Abel Arena, Truth Squid.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey

Judging by the picture is sure isn't Tafy.

It would actually be fully consistent with her/his previous posts to supposedly make a point about LSSU hockey based on a random picture of some other team's half-empty rink that happens to have blue seats. Let me guess, Anzalone once used the restroom there so that makes it relevant?

Good luck to the Lakers tonight, I hope they can close out the series and get some momentum going.

Re: LSSU Laker Hockey

By clicking on the link you'll notice St. Frank's team is in the bottom-third in attendance. http://chl.stats.pointstreak.com/attendance.html?leagueid=12&seasonid=5902

Click elsewhere on the site and you'll also see St. Frank is not in the playoff picture with just a handful of games left.

Judging from St. Frank's terrible run a second time as Laker coach, plus his below-mediocre run as a Mallard, I'd say, if nothing else, St. Frank is consistent.
