Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

I believe they set Mid July as a target to have a new coach in place. Not many names have been confirmed. D-3 Adrian coach Fogarty, Rockford AHL Assistant Steve Poapst and UAF Assistant and UAH Alum Lance West all seem to be in the mix along with Denver Asst Mike Corbett and Robert Morris coach Derek Schooley.

Wait wait wait wait wait wait SCHOOLS?! I gotta dig his number up (if I ever had it) on that one.

I've heard more names from very good sources, but I'll keep that under my hat. I'm on record as wanting West, but I will back whoever Bob Altenkirch picks, and he knows that because we traded email after our open letter on uahhockey.com.

Year 9 under Jim Roque will be the best one yet!!!!

And even better will be another year of the schizophrenic Truth sister with a dash of their pet Pink Pony added for a little excitement. Yes, let's bring back coaches who won even less than Kid Roque and players who were much better in suits and ties than helmets and shoulder pads.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

With Ron Rolston recently naming Joe Sacco as his second assistant (Teppo Numminen was the first), does that fill out his staff without Jim Roque joining him? He's sure got some NHL experience with him, eh?

FRICKER,
Rolston reportedly will select one more assistant coach.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

Bill, if that's the case, then Roque would be a logical choice - no pro experience, HC D1 college coach. Whatdaya think? Has the Laker leaders given him the green light to talk to Buffalo? Hmmmmmmmmmm, could
be interesting.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

I should mention that Kurt Kleinendorst (late of UAH) has been looking to go back to the pro game, and he's got time as an AHL HC and an NHL AC.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

No fresh blue paint on the seats at the Norris Center? No gondola built yet? No coach leaving for the NHL? No information on Pink in the Rink? Season ticket sales behind? Sounds like things are swell of at your little college in Upperland.

Lower status league but I can already predict what will be the same. Been right the past few years ,more than anyone else. You will see high expectations by the usual cast of sheep on here followed by more an more excuses, second half collapses, inconsistent play from night to night, dwindling attendance, playoff crowds in the hundreds, and more of the same this year and the next and the next and the next and the next and the next.

I'm surprised that work hasn't begun on that project. Didn't 3roquenight make keeping his buddy as coach a condition of the donations. All is swell at Lake Superior.

The Truth Is Out There...

You are a bitter woman. You should seek professional help.

Re: LSSU hockey 2013-14

I wonder if Truth Squad will continue to post on here, even if Jim starts to have some success and remains the coach long term.

He's been here for over 3 years now and it doesn't appear he's going anywhere....cause lets face it, it is kind of improbable of Jim being successful...he's had 8 years to prove himself and I think we can all agree that at best he deserves a D-....now things may change with LSSU being in a lower level conference and no longer having to contend with the Notre Dame's and Michigans but with Jim leading the show....I just can't see it....I once might have said "hope Jim proves me wrong" but after this past season I realized that being a Laker Fan with Jimbo at the helm is like entering Dante's inferno and reading the sign at the gate stating "abandon hope all ye who enter here!"

I know its hard to hear the reality of the last eight years instead of more excuses that you and the majority of you people on here and up there give year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year.

I'm hoping Roque goes just so we don't have to deal with your sorry, pathetic broken record posts anymore. The only thing worse than the lack of success for the Soo Lakers is the constant drivel of this (or these) bitter schizophrenic Truths.
