Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

Re: Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

Well, a win is a win, as I like to say but it was ugly.

Credit UAH for the first half of the game. The River Hawks did not look good in that first period and even the first half of the second.

They finally looked like the #5 team in the third.

I think we will see a much more focused Lowell team tomorrow night than we saw this evening.

Re: Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

As John said, a win is a win, and 6-2-1 is good after 9. Gary mentioned to me last night that the ice wasn't looking good, which is a bad thought considering there'll be two games played on the same surface tonight.

Anyway, go Lowell, let's get the sweep.

Re: Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

Safe to assume that UAH is sticking with the star goalie?

It will be interesting to see if UML changes the game plan to account for ice conditions. We rely a lot on finesse passing which was thwarted a lot last night. Unfortunately with the UAH netminder, you almost have to have the multiple pass offensive attack. Straight out shots seem unlikely to beat him.

Re: Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

Sure, Lowell slept walked through the first period. But I think some of you are understating just how dominant Lowell was in the last 30-35 minutes of the game.

Listening to the game you'd have thought Lowell was on the PP for 10 minuets at a clip. Huntsville was repeatedly pinned down in their own end, and when they finally got the puck they iced it or Lowell forced a turnover.

Another (hopefully not typical) Lowell slow start, but don't sell the River Hawks short to the degree they dominated UAH.

Re: Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

it certainly wasn't an offensive wonder but we did a plenty good enough job of bottling up UAH.

I'm in the process of watching the second game on B2 as I did last night. They played like total crap for the first 30 mintues of that game. The second 30 minutes were better. The third period was the only period that I would have called dominant.

Tonight's first period, wow, UAH looks like a high school team and the River Hawks a #5 team...this is domination...so far.

That's more like it. Now lets put this thing away in the next 10 minutes.

Re: Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

UML let up/UAH started pressure for a short bit in second. UML seems to have momentum back. Need strong third to finish weekend

Re: Lowell @ Huntsville 11/13-11/14

Can't argue with the results. I'm happy with a 7-1 aggregate.

Time to turn the page and look forward to Merrimack next Saturday.
