Re: Back of the Police Cruiser

Re: Back of the Police Cruiser

The Massachusetts State Police posted a picture on their FaceBook page

The Staties escorting the women's team to Logan Airport reminds all Boston sports fans of the journey from Logan to Fenway Park taken in the back seat of a Statiemobile by journeyman catcher Doug Mirabelli when he was traded to the Red Sox from a West Coast team. As he was needed to catch the first pitch of the game, Mirabelli changed into his new Red Sox uniform en route (though when he trotted onto the field he realized that BoSox management had forgotten to include a cup in his new duds). When interviewers asked him whether this had been his first time in the back of a police cruiser, Mirabelli replied it was his first time naked.

[Let me take the opportunity afforded by this board to ask our North Dakota confreres a question I've always wondered about since seeing "Fargo" many years ago: do North Dakota police officers really refer to their cars as "prowlers?" Or was that just the Coen Brothers being inventive?]
