Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Lakers need to jump out and get the lead against Union today. We need a team effort from everyone. It is essentially a road game for the Lakers, with Union (Schenectady) being located pretty close to RPI (Troy) where the game is being played. Laker pre-game show is on at 3:00 this afternoon on Soo Talk Radio 1400.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

NEIL DIAMOND!!! I see that any criticism of this team is not welcome and I see that those "true fans" are pretty happy with the coach and where they are in the standings.

So if the Lakers fall further down the standing and finish 11th place, with another first round exit, and hundreds in the stands instead of thousand that I will come on here and hear how everything is good and next year is really the year the Lakers break out. 5 year extensions for all the coaches and life is good up there. Good luck with that NEIL DIAMOND!!!

Keep the pom pom's in hand Neil Diamond and not sure if the Lakers have cheerleaders but you would be head cheerleader along with others on here, the new radio guys. I won't waste my time responding to you or the other members of the cheer squad anymore! We are great down here by the way since you seem to know so much!

The Truth Is Out There.....

I don't think anyone is saying that things are things are fine and dandy in Lakers' land. Obviously continued finishes in the bottom four of the CCHA aren't going to be acceptable for long. I don't know what kind of contract Jim Roque has, but I doubt he will get another extension without some type of improvement in the Lakers' record. I think the talent level has been slowly increasing, but they are still having difficulty putting things together as well as we would like to see.

Okay, your biggest beef is with the coach and new radio staff. Frank is no longer coach, and Francis was never even considered for play-by-play.

The truth is indeed out there, Mrs. Anzalone.

You're bitter.

Good bye.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

I am a Lake State supporter not a band wagon type of guy. Good or bad i will continue to support them.
As far as the coach is concerned if i were in charge i would make a change as soon as possible but i just don't see it doing any good just bashing him over and over.
Frank is and always will be a special part of laker history and no one can take that away from him.

As far as the RPI is concerned i like the Lakers chances if they clear the rebounds and crash the net on the offencive zone.

LETS GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!

Absolutely. They need to be more responsible in front of Brian. Also, Brian has been known to kick out some juicy rebounds at times, so that just enhances the importance of smart defensive zone play.

Looking forward to this tourney. Let's hope we're not here in a depressed mode come Saturday evening.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

I have been watching the Lakers since 1966 and I am not happy with their place in the standings and have not been for a while. This year seems to be a year with better talent but if that doesn't help get them out of the bottom four, than maybe a change is needed in head coaching. We can only say maybe next year for so long before we no longer even believe that.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

wow..what a stunner. The Lakers lost a shoot-out.How the hell did that happen.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Lakers fall to 1-9 in shootouts. Ah well, congrats to BMW for the shutout. Third 0-0 tie in school history, first ever in non conference play.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

Thank you for the link. It was nice see how bad the Lakers played rather than have the new announcer VanWaggonor say how close the Lakers were and how great they played. Rah rah rah!

Keep the hope up Laker fans, that is all you have. You simply have an 11th place team and don't seem to be bothered by it.

No one is happy with an 11th place team. I repeat...no one here is happy with an 11th place team. They never will be. You are the only one who seems to think that we all think things are fine and dandy. Everyone on this board has been saying it over and over again that we cannot nor should not finish in the bottom half..ever. Many of us felt that Roque could have been let go last year but when he wasnt we were willing to see if things changed. As of now it appears its more of the same and again we all will be saying its time to let him go. But some how I get the feeling that you will still believe we are content with everything.

Also interesting to note that your post count is getting smaller. What are you doing? Deleting your own posts?

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

I was only able to catch the 1st period of the game. Which players did the Lakers use for the shootout?

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

I believe MacVoy,McParland, and Schofield. I dont believe McParland and Schofield actually shot though. It seems they lost the puck before they got their shots off. Than again,as soon as the shoot-out was over, I forgot what even happen it was so bad.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

I was not very familiar with LSSU hockey but know there is a great tradition. I was impressed by your team's effort tonight despite the lack of scoring. They played hard for 65 minutes and Union was fortunate to get the tie and shootout win. I also enjoyed meeting and speaking with some Laker fans. Good luck the rest of the way.

Here is some video with the shootout and and postgame interviews.

Re: Laker Hockey 2009-10

LSSU plays Bentley tomorrow at 4:00pm.

Have we ever played Bentley? Like Union before today, I don't think we ever have. I have a feeling we'll be seeing Inglis in goal tomorrow. NO matter whom plays goal, the Lakers need to get some offensive confidence and get some goals.

Also I'm a true Laker fan. I will support this team and go to games whether they are towards the top, middle, or bottom.
