Jan. 12 Scores - What? It's not snowing (except on Remy)

Re: Jan. 12 Scores - What? It's not snowing (except on Remy)

12 - 1 CSS over Northland.
Some time still remaining.

Re: Jan. 12 Scores - What? It's not snowing (except on Remy)

9-2 Cards...Rossy lets his first shot on goal go in....now do we know why he hasn't played a minute yet this season....

Well, part of that was some off-the-ice extra curriculars...
Part was a concussion...
Part was because the 2 in front of him on the lineup haven't really done much to sacrifice their spot.

In Rossy's defense, Emery switched him in without giving him a "warmup-timeout". And he DID make 3 saves on 5 shots... and one of them was a beauty of a glove save.

But at the same time, his first save (the second shot) was a juicy rebound that Skid scored on. :(

But if we're going to talk about "juicy rebounds"... if Plattsburgh connected on HALF of the open-net rebounds Bienkowski gave them, this game is 15-1 after the second, 25-3 final score, and I'm NOT exaggerating!

Closed I believe, or was that just the one in Saranac Lake…??...they have now filtered into DOCS....nothing better then crazy insane felons..... NYS is actually in the process along with the state mental health in building several housing units to house these types at our local prisons. So not only do corrections have to watch rapists and murderers, we now have to mhu staff too...

Re: Jan. 12 Scores - What? It's not snowing (except on Remy)

It was Utica 5 - Brockport 1.

Attendance 1678.

These weeknight games are really hurting Utica's average attendance numbers!

9-2 Cards...Rossy lets his first shot on goal go in....now do we know why he hasn't played a minute yet this season....

The defense really let him down on both goals....on the first one he made the save on the semi-breakaway, but left a fat rebound (exactly the same looking play Williams allowed the first goal on). Rossy really didn't get many chances, and the two he let in were as much bad defense as bad goaltending. (Emery confirmed that in the paper this morning).

Re: Jan. 12 Scores - What? It's not snowing (except on Remy)

There were not even 1,000 in attendance. Plattsburgh counts tickets sold (i.e. season ticket holders) whether they are there or not. Last night, they weren't. Makes for an impressive average attendance, though.

Isn't technology wonderful? Plattsburgh has students taking tickets at the door and ripping them in half. They would never get an accurate count the way tickets are taken now. Counting the number of tickets sold overestimates physical attendance, but every other method currently available to them would probably underestimate attendance...they decided they'd rather overestimate.

At the game, I was discussing this with some people. We estimated that the actual attendance for the first 2 periods was about 1200-1400... but for the 3rd period, it was only in the range of 700-900.

As per page 13 (page 7 of the PDF) of the DIII Championships Handbook:

The attendance figures to be announced for each session of the championship shall be based on paid attendance. The paid attendance figures also are what should be listed on the online proposed budget and final financial report. The host has the option of providing a “turnstile” count [e.g., 34,575 paid attendance (12,456 turnstile attendance)].

Therefore, even Wick would have to announce PAID attendance if they were to host an NCAA game in march (which is a distinct possibility). Schools like Plattsburgh that announce it all the time are just being proactive. :p

Yes, I realize even season ticket holders at Plattsburgh must go out and buy their tickets for NCAA games, so paid and turnstile are a little closer, but the point to my argument is still legitimate.

I bought a spare season ticket for our coats, and to help out the average attendance ;) (though I did let someone use it for the Oswego game).

I'm eating bread and water here in Gloversville every night and Norm is buying season tickets for his coats:rolleyes: ;)
