USM now leads suffolk 3-2 after they took a 2-0 lead and allowed two unanswered goals from suffolk to make it a tie game.

If they're up 3-2 then the two goals they gave up after being up (2-0) can't be unanswered goals can they?

Castleton ties game at 9:45 of 2nd period on Stuart Stefan goal

Re: Jan. 12 Scores - What? It's not snowing (except on Remy)

Fitchburg State leads New England College 2-1 through 2 periods.

Aaron Harvey was replaced in goal for NEC at the start of the period for Connor Sampson, who quickly allowed the only goal of the period (before settling down, that is).

Goals:
NEC: Trevor Turner (PP) (2)
FIT: Trevor Lawler (3), Chris Costigan (4)

NEC still taking lots of shots. 18 this period to Fitchburg's 10. NEC holds a 41-17 lead in the SOG battle through 2 periods.

End of 2nd period 2-2 geneseo and castleton spartans had a potential 3rd goal called off when refs said that a castleton playerb was in crease and interfere with goalie.

Re: Jan. 12 Scores - What? It's not snowing (except on Remy)

Fitchburg State defeated New England College 4-1

NEC continued their shooting spree by outshooting Fitchburg 53-25. However, an early power play goal off a rebound was all they could get.

Goals:
NEC: Trevor Turner (PP) (2)
FIT: Trevor Lawler (3), Chris Costigan (4), Andrew Jones (1), Tucker Callen (EN) (3)

Goalies:
NEC: Connor Sampson (about 21 saves on 24 shots) (despite what I and the NEC commentator thought, Aaron Harvey was never in net)
FIT: Bobby Leiser (52 saves on 53 shots)

Making Leiser's performance more impressive is the fact that he got wrecked in his last appearance against Amherst. That, and Leiser had a career 4.02 GAA and .876 SV% coming into tonight's game. This, by far has to be the best game of his career.

One last note. According to the box score, Bobby Vorse was scratched and Fitchburg only sent two goalies to Henniker. Anyone know anything about that?

Fitchburg State improves to 7/8-3-1 and will play lowly Salve Regina at home on Thursday. NEC falls to 6-6-1 and will play not so lowly Norwich on the road next on Friday.
