It sure would be nice if our media provided context for all of this.
Balfour declaration
1947 CIA created (many Wall Street lawyer vets of OSS)
1948 Israel
1949 Mossad
1951 Mohammed Mossadegh elected president of Iran, reviews contracts, sees BP and Aramco have set-up 90/10 splits with Iran on the losing end. Mossadegh tells BP and Aramco to renegotiate. They say pound sand. Mossadegh says “yeah?” And nationalizes the oil fields/infrastructure and boots out the U.S./UK folks.
BP and Aramco say “oh yeah?” Ring ring, ring ring, “Hey Allen? We have a problem” that would be Allen Dulles, former Wall Street lawyer who represented John Davis Rockefeller, JD Jr, Standard Oil, John Piermont Morgan (until his death in 1917) JP Jr, Morgan trust. Dulles and MI6 get into “the game”. They coup Mohammed Mossadegh in 1953 (operation Ajax) and then install the Wall Street friendly Reza Pahlavi (the shah) who ushers in a wave of secret police brutality, but hey, it’s good for Wall Street.
After years of that oppression the Iranians overthrow the shah and enter the mullahs.
No matter the outcome this entire tragedy is the fault of the U.S. government.
And btw…not so fun fact I suppose. Two of the CIA officers who ran operation Ajax?
Kermit Roosevelt (Teddy’s grandson) and Miles Copeland (Stewart Copeland’s (drummer for The Police) father)…
But all we hear about is 1979 and “death to America” never any context provided…
